It looks like MBKB has brought out all the people on this forum who know what they don't want in government and it looks like Kosiur is it. As I said b4 all he wants to do is tax and spend and fund more government funded programs which result in higher taxes. This has become a very informative discussion and the truth will come out as it always does.

Wow! Three posts for Pat in response to mine. I take it I struck a nerve.

To admin, I am well aware that opinions are welcome here. That is why I came and shared mine. I am also aware that "pot stirring" is legal, due to free speech. But that doesn't mean it has to go unchallenged.

Personally, I COULDN'T care less that you think Ed Kosiur is a "fraud." You throw that term around with nothing to back it up, so it holds no weight. You dislike him personally. Big whoop. Sounds to me like you don't even know him. All you have are a few vague stories of "I ran ito Ed Kosiur here or there" and because he didn't tell you exactly what you wanted to hear he's a "FRAUD."

"Stole it?" Dramatic much? How do you know the idea was stolen and not discussed or shared?  BRING IT ON, ED. Some of the best laws we have in place today originated because of input from various sources.  Surely you can recognize this.

Or maybe not.

I don't give a rat's behind about your blog. But I might remind you that libel is still libel. And you have used your name. You might want to be careful about what you say on NUMEROUS blogs on the internet. (Especially since you are so easily identified.)

Free speech is great. Bet let's not forget about accountability where libel is concerned:

Libel

1. Law. a. defamation by written or printed words, pictures, or in any form other than by spoken words or gestures.
b. the act or crime of publishing it.
c. a formal written declaration or statement, as one containing the allegations of a plaintiff or the grounds of a charge.

2. anything that is defamatory or that maliciously or damagingly misrepresents.
–verb (used with object) 3. to publish a libel against.
4. to misrepresent damagingly.
5. to institute suit against by a libel, as in an admiralty court.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Origin: 1250–1300; ME: little book, formal document, esp. plaintiff's statement < L libellus, dim. of liber book; for formation, see castellum]
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)

American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source li·bel       (lī'bəl)  Pronunciation Key
n.

1. A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation.
The act of presenting such material to the public.
The written claims presented by a plaintiff in an action at admiralty law or to an ecclesiastical court.

Pat clearly needs no defending. She can and has done that for a long time. She knows the ropes and the politics better than most. She is and always has been here for the people. She never is looking for the approval from any political party. Just looking out for the welfare of the people. Gee...isn't that what our paid politicians are suppose to do? Wow...what a concept.

In any case...Shadow you are correct on saying that this was a very robust discussion and people seem to have their heels in the sand about Kosiur. He is part of the problems in Schenectady and the surrounding counties. And if I was Surhada, I don't know if I would be taking any credit for this rediculous sex offender law...because that is just what it is....rediculous! Kosiur sure ain't gonna get too many votes from the counties, now that he pushed the sex offenders off on us!

You people are freaking crazy!!!  MBKB1 a "hack" because he doesn't agree with caringparent, senders, and bumble???  You people are crazy, hey Im all for Amedore, he gets my vote, I like him. Just because others want to vote for Kosier, doesn't make them wrong or evil, respect others freedom to vote how they want and their opinion.  The real "hack" here is the administrator, for allowing this little haven of small minded "candyland-rotterdam" mindset stroking each other.  And any real debate gets met with attacks from a "caringparent" or a self-pleasuring politician pretending to be a "concerned town resident", or nurse etc. Bumble you dumb bastard, you defended that boob Mertz and his hitler approach to a police commission, and senders, and the rest of them defended the "current majority"  You think the county or state republicans think that Mertz or other ignorant town board republicans are good for our communities, and just because they have an (R) next to their name they are going to blindly support them? I support Amedore 100%, what is hurting the republican party in this town, and county is the ignorant allegiance that senders, bumble, patz, and the admin, have for anything elephant, and the metion of anything donkey gets hit with personal attacks and nonproductive ramblings about how bad one party is compared to the other.  Intelligent debate would be nice. All of what has been posted about Kosier raising taxes etc. is true! but on the other hand look at Amedore, Im voting for him and I still don't believe his promises.  Amedore promises to lower taxes, on gas, cell phones, and help underprivledged children in other countries...please that is bull sh*t.  But I do think he will do a great job with other items, and I like him, threfore I vote for him.  IF the blind posters of this site can't look at anything on an individual basis as  opposed to (R) = good, (D) = bad.. then shame on you

ADMIN please try to be a little objective!!!  scolding MBKB1 for his posts is disturbing.  MBKB1 you are only allowed to voice opinions that are similar to ours!!!!  ADMIN is a political HACK! and if others can't see that, then it's really a shame.  BE OBJECTIVE EVERYONE, stop being led around by the nose, question things and don't always believe what Tom Buchanon tells us to, (he is on the way out politically).  Independant thinking should be welcomed.

Tom Buchanan is the one that needs assistance.  We should be calling for his removal. Any "Commissioner" that'll basically put up an empty slate, then mysteriously have a back room meeting in a bowling alley and miracously come up with Gervais, needs to be replaced sooner rather than later. He allowed how many open seats to go unchallenged, basically insuring a democrat majority repeats in all municipalities (city/county)

I don't know Mr Kosiur, however, I have had business dealing with George Amedore.  I can say unequivocally, that Mr Amedore is one dishonest fellow when it comes to dealing with his customers.  I purchased a new home from George about 13 years ago and tried to get him to come back and fix things, to no success.  I ended up filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office and taking him to small claims court.  After repeatedly denying any fault on his part, the judge awarded me a settlement for the repairs.  During that time I took a walk around the "neighborhood that George built" to see if others had similar experiences.  Virtually everyone that I talked to had similar complaints.  I still remember the parting line that was thrown in my face when the judge ordered that Amedore write the check to me ... "You should be ashamed of yourself".  George, you should be ashamed of yourself for calling yourself a Christian  business man and claiming that you are all for honesty in government,  Right.... If you go through our neighborhood, you will see a few sparse signs for George.  Most of them are either on his relatives lots or his family friends.  The rest of us?  Well, let me tell you that we will not be voting for Mr Amedore no way, and no how.

What the heck kind of an idiot are you? From what I read, admin simply told the hack to hack at me directly. Can't you read? You obviously can't write.

Oh, and this is the "Fast Eddy" thread. There's another thread devoted to Amedore to the clown who decided to disparage him on Eddy's thread. Get that? It's the Ed Kosiur is running for State A S S thread.

I noticed some Amedore signs missing
in places they were the day before.
Could it be Kosiur's camp?

Hey, PI, where was that?  I still have a few extra, I can go replace them quite quickly.

NEW YORK STATE
Tedisco betting heavily on local contest
105th race has weight in Albany

BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter

Now entering its third week, the 105th Assembly District special election is shaping up as a mighty battle between state Democrats and Republicans, with more than just a single seat at stake. Voters will decide July 31.
On the grassroots level, Republican George Amedore Jr. and Democrat Edward Kosiur are vying for the seat held for 24 years by Paul Tonko, DAmsterdam, who left the Assembly to head the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
But on a higher level, there is a power play between Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco, R-Schenectady, and Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan.
Tedisco personally recruited Amedore, the 38-year-old executive vice president of Amedore Homes, a construction company founded by Amedore’s father that specializes in high-end homes. A win would boost Tedisco’s political capital and invigorate the state’s moribund Republican Party, said political analyst Alan Chartock.
“Tedisco has a huge amount of prestige on the line. If he loses this race, he is in real trouble. It’s his hometown,” Chartock said.
As evidence of the stakes involved, Tedisco is pouring resources into Amedore’s campaign. He has members of his staff working as volunteers for Amedore and has placed the campaign under the direction of the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee. The state committee, in turn, is providing additional volunteers.
On the other side, the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee is running Kosiur’s campaign. At least 300 volunteers from labor unions AFL-CIO, CSEA and SEIU Local 1199 “are actively involved, going door to door, doing literature drops and making phone calls,” Kosiur said.
Kosiur, 51, is director of teen employment with the Boys & Girls Club of Schenectady.
Both state campaigns are blitzing the district with mass mailings. Voters have already received two mailers from each candidate. Democrats are planning to send at least 10 more before July 31.
Also, both campaigns are running TV and radio spots, with newspaper advertisements soon to come, all paid for by the state committees.
“It’s evidence of just how much [Tedisco] has to lose. He has no choice. Leaders are evaluated on whether you pick one up or lose one,” said Chartock, who is president and CEO of WAMC/Northeast Public Radio and executive publisher of the Legislative Gazette, a weekly newspaper that covers state government.
In terms of resources, Democrats have more to offer, Chartock said. “They have a well-oiled campaign machine that collects tons of money for competitive campaigns like these,” he said.
County Legislator Gary Hughes has worked on several city and county political races and is volunteering to help with the campaign of his longtime friend Kosiur, who is also a Schenectady County legislator, representing District 2 in the city of Schenectady. Kosiur is also a former city councilman.
“There is an inside game and there is a local game” at play in this race, Hughes said. “The local game is about representation. The inside game goes beyond the seat, as it does not turn the balance of seats in the Assembly.” Democrats, who control 108 of the 150 state Assembly seats, can afford to lose one.
Hughes called the 105th race “something to watch. This is different than any campaign I’ve worked on; it’s like a local campaign on steroids.”
Both Amedore and Kosiur themselves are working hard to win votes. Both are on leave from their jobs and are spending each day campaigning.
During the past week, they held dueling news conferences and sent out news releases, all while maintaining their schedules of attending community events, going door to door and making phone calls to voters.
Political observers view the race as highly competitive, too close to call. Both political camps expect voter turnout in the entire district to equal 6 percent to 10 percent, about on par for a special election.
Democrats outnumber Republicans 28,190 to 24,852, and there are 21,313 people registered with smaller parties or no party.
“It will be a close race; that’s why we are working hard,” Kosiur said. If the turnout expectations are right, “we’re looking at 3,900 votes wins the race.”
Amedore campaign spokesman Phil Oliva said Republicans are going after every vote.
Chartock said a low turnout would benefit Amedore. “My opinion is if it is a 10 percent turnout, the Republican will win. Higher turnouts benefit Democratic candidates,” he said. “The idea here is to turn out your own people, to turn out your base as much as possible.”
The 105th district includes all of Montgomery County, the towns of Duanesburg, Princetown and Rotterdam and more than half of the city of Schenectady

It's too bad the map couldn't be posted here. It shows the 105th Assembly district as being ALL of Montgomery County, All of Duanesburg, All of Princetown, All of Rotterdam and about half of the City of Schenectady.

I also found it telling that the UNIONS, those that depend on State legislation to further their own agendas, are backing Kosiur. Hmmm. Not me and I am a union member. I do support unions as they relate to providing for their membership but I do NOT support my union dues going to help some political hack candidate like Kosiur! No!

They expect Kosiur to rubberstamp the legislation that THEY come up with. And unions do write legislation.

With the sex offender law that Kosiur corrupted and the county ram-rodded through, the potential for shoveling the sh** out of Schenectady to Rotterdam, Princetown, Duanesburg and ALL of Montgomery County is right there in your face.

It's bad enough that my city is the laughing stock of the entire capital region. I can't see Kosiur winning because he really hasn't got a clue.

I hope the voters are paying attention to what each candidate stands for and also looks back on the incumbents record and see if they want more of the same. This county has had enough tax and spend mentality and now it's time to lower taxes and cut spending.

The Unions are heavily inbedded with the dems and visa versa! So here it is people....if you want to continue to have cops that steal from the evidence room, not work, abuse the system, continue to receive inflated wages and benefits....AT THE TAXPAYERS EXPENSE.....than by all means, vote for Kosiur...cause he will give the unions anything they want...that's what the dems do! Just go back and read what Spitzer is planning for the arbitration law.

Come on folks...the police union has so much control in Schenectady, that Stratton had to relinquish his authority over to Bennett. And Spitzer will stop Bennett right in his tracks....just when he was about to get a handle on the situation.

So YUP...A VOTE FOR KOSIUR IS A VOTE FOR THE SAME OLD SAME OLD!!!
