You are correct Bum, I don't enforce the laws, I create them.  Police coverage is provided by
the County Sheriffs and State Troopers.  Both agencies do a great job for us, 72 square miles of roads does not allow them to be everywhere all the time.  The area mentioned in the letter
is right near Town Hall and both the Troopers and the Sheriff sit there to catch speeders on a
regular basis.

There's a few roads in Rotterdam where the cars travel way over the posted speed limit too, Draper Ave at night, Mariaville Rd, 890, rte 7, Guilderland Ave, and there are more than that.

I must say, though, Rene, that maybe it's time to ask them what's going on.  Personally, I know that I don't go out that way much anymore, but since the State Police moved to the new barracks down in Princetown, I don't think I've seen a State Police car in Duanesburg on ANY of my trips...and I think it's been longer since I've seen a Sheriff out there.  In fact, it was 12+ years ago when I lived up in D'Burg for a while and I don't know that I EVER saw a Sheriff up there...and someone said (along with the latest budget talks) that a majority of the cost for the Sheriff's office is due to the fact that they do (or have to) patrol the outlying areas, i.e. D'Burg or M'ville.  Now, I haven't gone out there very often either, but I'd say that to say that the police presence is at a minimum would be OVERSTATING it.  I say make some waves, keep your people safe and get your (and our) moneysworth.  I don't need Schenectady County Sheriff's pulling over people at the old Moyer's Gas Station (corner of Duanesburg Rd and Kellar Ave.  We have Rotterdam Police to do that job.  If they can't handle it, then maybe we need to have a shakeup from the top down at the department...and believe me, I'll be watching to see what type of speed the cars are doing past my house on the first day of school...in a 15 m.p.h. school zone that begins/ends at the police station.  Maybe I'll go over and request they put up their speed signal...or request to borrow a radar gun.  Anybody got a spare one laying around?

I have to disagree with you on this one Kevin.  I am out and about on our roads every day and frequently see both the Troopers and the Sheriffs on our
roads.  Not just at Dunkin Donuts either

Just calling it as I see it.  Glad you see it differently.  It's not up to me to make sure that my (or your) tax dollars are getting spent appropriately in D'Burg.  I do my best to figure that out down here.

So now the town mayor is saying that their is lawbreaking going on in the town and she is doing nothing about it. this will show up on the demos literature when they go door to door in delanson and princetown during the election in a few months so you better be careful what ya say here, Mayor, please. they will be printing it out and sending it to people and saying you support the law - breaking indeed. Over here in Rotterdam we dont have the problem since we have the excellent policemen in blue.

Bumble is right Sal...the SUPERVISOR creates law, she is not responsible for law enforcement.
But the Kratz, door-to-door, in DUANESBURG? You really have quite the imagination Sal. As for any printed material, well, it's a
non-issue since the Kratz won't come up with a candidate who can beat the current Supervisor, thank goodness...so I don't think she'll
have to worry.
And I don't know what part of town you're in Sal, but we certainly do have our share of speeders, among other things. Sure, our guys
catch many, but to say that we don't have that problem simply isn't true. I think just about every town or city has some area or another
where heavy feet are commonly a problem.
By the way Sal, how many times do we have to tell you that our boys are in BLACK now?

Talking about speeders....there is a road across from Briar Creek Golf Course. It's called Darrow Road. You gotta see them fly down that street. Sometimes you'd think they were going to drive right on through the golf course. I believe that is the town of Princetown.

Point taken...and you're right, I never underestimate opponents - it is never wise to do that.

The Conservatives who are conservative are not after me Sal - we are all on the same side, and they happen to constitute the
overwhelming majority of our enrollment. They also understand that we are doing the right thing, and that it is necessary and long
overdue. The Demokratz have no business "coming for me" or any other Conservative. After all, it's our party, not theirs...and it's time
they understand that once and for all.

Is that considered Duanesburg? I always consider it Rotterdam / Princetown / Mariaville.

I thought the church was in Princetown, but I'm not really sure either.  While many consider Mariaville a town of its own it is actually a hamlet area of the
town of Duanesburg.
