I started a new thread about ethanol under the 'chit chat' board! It is too interesting to get lost in this thread, I think.

I received this through my email today. I am not a volunteer. I never provided my email to them either. Did anyone else get this?

As a businessman I am frustrated by what I see coming out of Albany. They spend too much… borrow too much… tax too much… and they aren’t responsive to their customers -- the people of New York State. That’s why so many people are leaving the area and leaving the state.
If I built homes that didn’t satisfy my customers I wouldn’t be in business very long.
I think government is too costly and too inefficient. We need to rein in out-of-control government spending. We need to lower the highest taxes in the nation – especially property taxes.
Schenectady and Montgomery counties used to lead the world in manufacturing… today we lead the nation in taxes. It’s a sad commentary. We need to turn that around.
We need to reduce state debt. We need to help create jobs. We need to run government more like a business.
I don’t have experience raising taxes and I never will. I don’t want experience in political bickering. I have experience creating jobs, building homes, and running a business.
I’m new to politics but I’m not new to community service and volunteerism. I want to bring these experiences to Albany.
I am looking forward to visiting homes and meeting as many voters as possible and want you to know that my campaign will be a positive one focused on issues that affect you and your family.
How about using animal/human waste.......Rotterdam has alot of septic tanks that would like to donate.....get them pumped for free AND receive a little something extra in the mail---after it is weighed......

A home builder, George Amedore has seen firsthand how high property taxes keep families from realizing the American Dream of owning a home. He will fight to reduce property taxes by guaranteeing homeowners an annual property tax rebate check and capping local property tax increases to no more than the rate of inflation.
George Amedore believes that New York families are already overtaxed and he will oppose ALL new increases in sales, income or property taxes.
George Amedore believes the state’s gas tax should be reduced to match the tax on gas in our neighboring states – a move that would save drivers 13 cents per gallon.
SPENDING RESTRAINT
George Amedore believes state government spending should never grow faster than a family’s ability to pay for it. He promises to vote against any state budget which increases spending by more than the rate of inflation.
CREATING JOBS
George Amedore has a plan to create new local jobs by tearing down abandoned and unusable factories in Amsterdam and Schenectady, cleaning up the brownfields, and personally recruiting new employers, especially those in hi-tech, manufacturing and ethanol production, to the cleaned-up sites.
George Amedore will fight for state funding to build an ethanol facility to create hundreds of jobs, build the farming economy and reduce our reliance on foreign oil.
I received the email too, along with the tv ad attached to it. I will say that he is running a very well organized 'clean' campaign. He sticks to the topics and there is nothing negative. I wonder how much input he has in his campaign or if it is soley run by the republican campaign machine. In either case, it is so far very positive, clean and very very well orchastrated. And there are Amedore sign everywhere in Rotterdam. I was somewhat surprised at some of the business places that did display them. I think he has a more than good shot at winning this election. Lets face it...Kosiur just can't cut it.

Republican candidate for the 105th Assembly seat George Amedore announced his plan for property tax relief Monday, July 9.
Amedore announced his plan in front 140 Country Walk Road in Rotterdam. The home is in the first neighborhood Amedore helped build when he started working in his family’s business, Amedore Homes.
“I talk to the people who live here, and their biggest concerns are the fact that there is a huge burden of property taxes that never gets better,” Amedore said.
The thee-point plan would put a cap on property taxes to limit school and municipal tax increases to no more than the rate of inflation. The plan would eliminate unfunded mandates, which Amedore said are forced upon local school districts and municipal governments. Also, the plan would return Medicaid fraud recoveries back to homeowners in the form of rebate checks. Amedore said last year there was an estimated $4.5 billion in Medicaid fraud, which should be returned to those who pay the bills.
Amedore’s Democratic opponent Ed Kosiur said his experience in government as a county legislator proves that he is able to cut taxes through economic development and job creation.
“My opponent really has no experience in government and has never cut a tax in his life,” Kosiur said. “I have cut county taxes the past two years by making government more efficient and building up our economy saving tax payers more than $6 million while securing $200 million in private investment and creating 2,000 new jobs in Schenectady County.”
Amedore pointed out that Schenectady County homeowners pay the eighth highest tax rate in the nation, according to the Tax Foundation, which rates 775 of the country’s most populated counties.
“To often the American Dream of owning a home turns into a nightmare because of increasing property taxes,” Amedore said. “These people need relief, not excuses as to why they are always going up.”
Joseph and Terry Debrino live at the house where Amedore was speaking. Joseph Debrino said he moved into his house in 1994 and was paying $300 per month in property taxes. Now he pays $600 and expects to pay more due to the completion of Rotterdam’s revaluation project this year.
Debrino said he is a retired state worker living on a fixed income and said he wasn’t sure how long his family could stay in their house if taxes continue to rise.
“We love the home we live in, but we don’t love the property taxes,” Debrino said. “I think it is great the George is trying to do something about it.”
Debrino said Amedore has never been a politician, but has been a leader in the community and is brining a commitment with him to the state.
Amedore said he plans to work with the democratic majority in the Assembly to get his initiatives passed and said he would make his three-point “common sense” plan a priority if elected.
“It is not going to be done overnight, but I will work hard for the best interests of the people,” he said.
Also, the plan would return Medicaid fraud recoveries back to homeowners in the form of rebate checks. Amedore said last year there was an estimated $4.5 billion in Medicaid fraud, which should be returned to those who pay the bills.
There will be no medicaid fraud when national health care comes into being.........THE GOVERNMENT STILL GETS TO KEEP THE $$........
