That is great.....after all these years(generations) of 'senior homeowners' paying school taxes, now it's not good.....well, here's a little ditty....this up and coming generation of seniors outweighs their off-spring in #'s.......maybe their off-spring could 'spring' some $$ to them and help pay for their medication or taxes......not too sure where this circle starts or ends......anyone else????

George Amedore’s been talking a lot about the “American dream.” If I had his life, I guess I would too. Building high-priced luxury houses is a good way to make money. Having the good fortune to be on national TV worked out well for him also. But how does this give him the credentials to be our assemblyman? I want someone like Paul Tonko. Mr. Tonko talked about issues working families face. So does Ed Kosiur, and that’s why I will vote for him. We need an assemblyman who will represent us — not misrepresent building swanky homes for the “haves” as a noble American dream venture. PATSEY MANNING Rotterdam

Okay Patsey...now let's see. You want someone like Paul Tonko cause he talked about working family issues as does Kosiur. Oh well how sweet. You see Patsey, that is all Tonko and Kosiur do is 'talk' about them and then create government programs that us hard working tax payers have to pay for. And I would bet the farm that Patsey is a senior. (in all do respect, of course)
And by the way Patsey, if you haven't noticed, you live in American where some people actually do live in 'swanky' homes. That is called CAPITALIZM. And guess what? SOMEBODY'S GOTTA BUILD THEM.
And Patsey, you better check your politically correct words....these swanky homed folks are not called 'haves'...they are called the 'served' and the rest are the 'underseved'. Just ask Walmart.

I agree Bumble, there's nothing wrong with working and making big money other than it makes some people very jealous. There was an article posted in another segment from a guy from Amsterdam who wanted to know when the downtown area was going to be fixed up so that it didn't look like a dump. Paul Tonko has represented that area for 25 years and has done nothing to address the problem. As Bumble stated the Tonko and Kosiur talk about the problem then raise taxes to be used on a pet project somewhere and the problem remains untouched. Such is politics, tell the people what they want to hear then do what you want.
That was a very good point that was brought up about Amsterdam. It hasn't changed in 25years. In all of the years that Mr. Tonko was in the assembly, I really don't know exactly what he has done to get him re-elected so many times.
As the saying goes if you can't dazzle them with your brilliance baffle them with your BS. That's exactly how Tonko stayed in office for so long and not because of what he's done for his district and Amsterdam is a perfect example of his accomplishments.
Paul didn't really have any other life but politics and was always available to attend every function that he was invited to. He got a loot of free meals that way and got to meet and get a lot of people to vote for him.
Tonko had 'no' life except for politics. No wife, no kids....nothin'! So I guess he was a lifer socializer and function attender! I don't know if he has ever worked in the private sector. I think that is the main criteria for being a politician these days. Ya know...how many hands can ya shake and how many babies can you kiss and how many funcitons you can go to.
These things are really important as the politician should mingle and really get to know his/her constituants. However, they should be doing 'something' for them. Especially someone like Tonko who has probably shaken every hand, kissed every baby and went to every local funciton there is. And yet NOTHING was ever done. Gee...I guess any of us could become politicians too, huh?

Dont you remember that person talking about him being ALL OVER THE PLACE,,,,,every where,,,baseball/football openings, store openings, graduations etc......he is a ONE MAN bus tour.....literally.......that is what he likes to do and good for him....but he doesn't live my life.....none of them do......

The real question is what has he done for the people in his district, did he lower taxes, create good jobs, get grants to rebuild infrastructure, or help to bring in money for his district. Rotterdam was in his district and what did he do for us?
Although I have to say I have yet to hear of Mr.Amedore talking about 'encouraging' infrastructure to support all those companies and jobs.....isn't it all connected?? Is he a 'closet consolidator'?
