I wish my scanner was working, cause I'd scan in an invitation to a re-election fundraiser for Brian Stratton. It's a nice little invitation with the Mayor Brian Stratton's picture on the front. Then when you open it, it has the particulars, such as where the event will take place. Which is 400 State Street (the movieland building) on August 14th from 5:30 to 7:30pm. What I found most interesting was how it was signed. It says:
Brought to you by: David Buicko Bobby Mallozzi Angelo Mazzone John Roth
And here is the way the menu read: Hot and cold hors d' oeuvres courtesy of Glen Sanders Mansion
Dessert bar and coffee Provided by Villa Italia
Ambience and Decor Provided by Galesi Group & Experience and Creative Design, ltd.
Cost: either $500, 250 or 125/person
Pretty impressive bunch, wouldn't ya say? They have all benefited from the metroplex, funded by our tax dollar. It is clear that it is not how hard you work or what you know....it's who you know and what to kiss!

I thought the Metroplex was a bipartisan organization . Have you ever heard do quid pro quo? This would be an exellent example of it. Politicians are so brazen, they don't even hide the fact that it's going on.
The Democraps are looking to buy votes. Unions, businesses and special interest groups are looking to buy favors. Legal corruption. Legal extortion. Legal distortion.
This is the way that it use to be in Rotterdam when the Democrats were in contol of the town board. It would end up being the business owners and the Democrats and the Unions that controlled the town. This invitation makes it look like the business owners are repaying Mr. Stratton back for favors maybe from the Metroplex. I can't make it out very well, but it looks like the Union lable on the bottom of these invitations. That is what Rotterdam was like from the days of GE.

I wonder if the owner of m2creativ recieved any money from the metroplex? It looked like every other business responsible for the fund raiser recieved money from metroplex, I don't see M2creativ being any different.
Web site tags Stratton with parking violation Photos prompt mayor to ask for ticket BY STEVEN COOK Gazette Reporter Reach Gazette reporter Steven Cook at 395-3122 or scook@dailygazette.net
SCHENECTADY — Mayor Brian U. Stratton’s wallet was $50 lighter Thursday thanks to an ill-advised parking spot and a few quick photos posted on a local activist’s Web site. Stratton paid two parking tickets, one for parking in a no-standing zone and the other for parking the wrong way at a curb. The photos, posted at SchenectadyNY.info, showed the mayor’s city-owned SUV parked at Ferry and Front streets. Emphasis in the postings was placed on the “No Standing” and “One Way” signs. The vehicle appeared to be violating rules concerning each. The Web site serves as a forum for comment on local issues. User “bennekill” made the first posts. The site is run by Pat Zollinger, a regular at city meetings and a political activist. GOT A NEWS TIP? Readers can provide news tips to the Gazette Newspapers’ Schenectady office by calling 395-3140. He was briefly attending the Stockade neighborhood picnic, part of the National Night Out event, before going to a larger event in Bellevue. Nonetheless, Stratton acknowledged, “I parked where I shouldn’t have. It was a stupid thing to do.” He asked police to cite him. They did, police Capt. Peter Frisoni confirmed. Stratton said he quickly paid up. “I paid my fine, lesson learned, life goes on,” he said.
They actually had this on the channel 10 afternoon news today. Some folks have said that this is just a way to 'poke fun at Stratton'. What they would really like, is to see him caught at what is really important so he could then be voted out of office.
OH...and I heard from some Rotterdam business owners how they received that invitation to Brian Stratton's re-election campaign event followed up with a phone call as well. I was wondering....is that the norm? I mean, Stratton is not the mayor of Rotterdam so why would they get the invite? Just wondering....

Stratton and Tedisco buddy up First published: Tuesday, August 28, 2007
Mayor Brian U. Stratton was spotted attending a recent $200-a-head fundraiser for Jim Tedisco, Assembly minority leader, at Saratoga Race Course.
No doubt many would believe it unusual for the mayor, a Democrat, to be financially supporting the Republican assemblyman.
In view of past relationships, Stratton's attendance was a further surprise. A couple years ago, when there was a spike in neighborhood crime, Tedisco put together an extensive plan to improve Schenectady public safety.
He had the support of the City Council, Police Chief Mike Geraci and preliminary funding approval from Metroplex. When Stratton decided credit for the proposal would go to Tedisco, he put the kibosh on the plan.
Stratton's unexpected sudden warmth for Tedisco may stem from the Assembly exit of Democrat Paul Tonko. In the past, Stratton dealt exclusively with Tonko and ignored Tedisco.
With Tonko gone, on state issues, the mayor must deal with Tedisco, Assemblyman George Amedore and state Sen. Hugh Farley -- all Republicans.
