SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Schenectady Police say one man lit another man on fire in Schenectady on Friday morning.
The man has been transported to Westchester Medical Center, where most victims go when they’ve been severely burned.
Witnesses say a helicopter touched down at the Mount Pleasant football field so the man could be flown to that hospital.
Police responded to 925 Bridge Street Friday around 9:30 a.m. during a domestic violence incident. That’s where they say a man was doused in gas, lit on fire and then ran to the home next door. The neighboring home has a sign on the front porch saying it’s a “Early Learning Center” with rainbows and children on the poster.
One of the neighbors says she heard screaming and yelling while the incident was unfolding.
Police say the suspect that set the man on fire is still on the loose.
