A pair of water main breaks in Rotterdam on Friday had crews working well into the night — a story the region is becoming too familiar with after Niskayuna’s nine chain-reaction water main breaks earlier this week. ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A large water main break shut down a busy intersection in Rotterdam.
The water main break occurred on Crane Street, according to police.
The area of Altamont Avenue and Crane Street will remain closed through Saturday while crews work to repair the main, police said. Lanes are also closed in both directions on Altamont Avenue between Obrien Avenue and Patton Drive. Police have also closed Crane Street between Houlton Avenue and Altamont Avenue.
The main entrance from Altamont Avenue to the Hannaford Plaza is closed.
A boil water advisory is not expected to be issued, according to Rotterdam Highway Superintendent Larry Lamora. |
