This is too funny.

Mike just got home from the store and said the woman in front of him at the Shop Rite was browsing today's Gazette while waiting to be rung up and there is an opinion section front page story about McCarthy and wasn't really talking to anyone but just said aloud that of course McCarthy's wife's employer had no choice but to endorse McCarthy.   Mike laughed, they got into brief conversation.  The woman said that on that facebook or twitter, one of those, that McCarthy has a site bragging about himself and his accomplishments.  The woman said she responded asking if violating state law regarding assessments (because they are not uniform as state law requires) is an accomplishment and reference the thing about values falling but taxes are figured on the outdated assessment value stuff.

She said she looked for any responses this morning, McCarthy not only refused to respond to her comment, he removed it and did something so she cannot write any comments at all on his page.

I can't imagine that she told Mike a fairy tale (like some people on here do), so I would say PROOF POSITIVE that McCarthy will not speak in public to anyone.

Actually a second thought is that since she referenced a state law that McCarthy was violating, then McCarthy obviously did not want anyone who goes to his site to know that he is violating state law.

The Daily Gazette is a very bias news outlet and should be boycotted and is as corrupt as Mayor Gary McCarthy.  The endorsement by the Gazette is called “Pay to Play” the Gazette profits from McCarthy tax payers dollars (YOUR MONEY) to advertise the Mayor’s failed H.O.M.E.S program in its newspaper. In addition the Gazette is an employer for McCarthy’s wife definitely stinks with cronyism. So it is a no brainer that the Gazette is a McCarthy supporter!

BRAVO! The fact that the Gazetto broke decades of editorial independence to support failed DEM machine hack McCheese speaks volumes. He has raised taxes 28 times and
wants to raise them 4 more times-no? No wonder so many good reporters have fled Maxon Road. At the debate a lady from Northtside with the bad railing that McCheese said
should leave the City confronted him. He answered with his usual pack of lies about "church based" help. Maybe the Lord will replace the railing? The jig is up and
City Hall is overdue for a total cleanup. Vote for the entire REP/Reform slate for City Council too Riggi/Rigley/Verett/Cuevas- reelecting the great Vince Riggi is not enough.

I cant remember where I read it, maybe yesterday's story about McCarthy or what, it says that "McCarthy" kept the tax increases below 2%.

No credit goes to McCarthy for that!

There is a tax cap and while the law doesn't mandate he stay within the cap, we all know that it would have been a political mistake to exceed the cap.

So, he stayed within the cap, but cut out many services that the taxpayers of the city had.   McCarthy cut out skating in Central Park.  He cut out maintaining almost everything in the park.  When was the last time McCarthy spent a penny of CITY tax dollars on the tennis stadium, on the baseball A diamond?  When, can anyone answer that?

He cut out snow emergency plowing

He cut out keeping the assessment roll up to date

He cut back on fixing potholes

He cut out charging property owners with failure to keep their sidewalks shoveled

Yep, he kept on giving his cronies the tax dollars but cut back on essential services to the taxpayers.

These were cut by Stratton and Johnson - well before McDoogie came into office.

They were not cut by Johnson.  In her days there was no such thing as a "snow emergency" meaning alternate side parking like every other city uses (24 hours on one side followed by 24 hours on the other side).

It was when Duci was mayor that the ordinance went into effect to provide for mandatory alternate side parking.  Duci declared snow emergencies.  Jurzynski declared snow emergencies and then there were several winters without much snow.  Then we got a big snowstorm, all the TV stations, the radio stations and newspaper stated that a snow emergency had been declared in Schenectady, and which side of the street to park on.    Yet Jurzynski was screamed at by people who don't pay attention to laws in the city and whined, especially those who went to Joe Allen who went whining to Jurzynski on behalf of his hill people because they got fined and towed.  People didn't take responsibility, claimed that someone should come ring their doorbells to tell them.

But then the mayor full of BS got in and he NEVER ONCE declared a snow emergency.  McCarthy after him NEVER ONCE declared a snow emergency.  One of both of them claimed it "costs the city money."  Um, it costs the city money to give out all the tax exemptions to Galesi and the rest of their cronies downtown, but that's OK.   See, Stratton and McCarthy CUT essential services to the taxpayers and cater to their rich cronies.

Quoted Text
Section 248-38  Parking during or after snowfall

[Amended 10-11-1994 by Ord. No. 94-30]

A. Whenever the Mayor finds that an accumulation of snow and ice of more than three inches will make it necessary that motor vehicle traffic be expedited and that parking on City streets be prohibited or restricted for snowplowing, sanding and other purposes, he may declare a "snow emergency" and implement the parking prohibition rules as described by this section. When the Mayor has declared a snow emergency, the following rules shall apply:

(1) Alternate parking regulations and priority street regulations are temporarily suspended on all City streets.

(2) Parking prohibitions on all City streets shall start at either 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m. at which time it shall be required that vehicles be moved to the even-numbered side of the street. Parking on the odd-numbered side of the street is strictly prohibited for the next 24 hours. After said twenty-four-hour period, and for the next 24 hours, parking is strictly prohibited on the even-numbered side of the street. Therefore, all vehicles must be moved to the odd side of the street for this second twenty-four-hour period. After 48 hours have elapsed from the initial designated time, the Mayor will officially declare snow emergency parking ended unless conditions require an extension.

My sentiments on the Gazette exactly.  One major reason I wouldn't vote for McCarthy is named Eric Schilling. There is no way this guy should be allowed to roam the streets in
the spring under the guise of "we're trying to help". Nothing but a story photo op embarrassing residents. The story of those three women took the cake of bad taste. McCarthy's
comments were the frosting.

The only folks that Hull will talk to are Neil and Jane Golub.  They paid enough for it.

Neil and Jane are outstanding citizens. They have contributed to Schenectady greatly in charitable work. What has Galesi done? Oh yea Galesi don't give a $hit about the people.

And your evidence is?

Do you have the brains to know that Golub is located in a GALESI owned property, you know the BILLIONARE CRONY of the DEM party leaders in the city-- the mayor and dem council members who hike takes on the low income homeowners to pay for the demolition of a building owned by the billionaire Galesi, and the that mayor and  council members who make the low income homeowners in the city pay the highest taxes in the state in order to exempt the billionaire Galesi and from paying full taxes!    Comment?
