Tennessee’s lieutenant governor has a message for Christians and defenders of the West: buy guns.
Following the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, in which Christians were targeted, Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey issued at statement on his Facebook post that encouraged proponents of Western values and Christians to obtain guns and a permit to own them.
The Tennessean reported on Friday that in his post, Ramsey stated that though this is not a time for panic, he believes preparation is key.
He made clear that regardless of the shooters motivation — jihadist extremism, racial supremacy or aggressive secularism — the targeted groups of Christians and defenders of western culture remain the same.
Ramsey went on to say that he believed “it is better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it,” and in conclusion, simply stated: “Our enemies are armed. We must do likewise.”
