So here is today's (Aug 23) taxpayer subsidized open house gala bus tour. Many of them making repeat appearances on this list (not surprising)
Michigan Ave - actually, this one has been for sale on and off since 2006. Originally the asking price back then was $110,000. The city has it assessed for $90,900, it's been listed with an asking price of $59,900 for almost a year now. But the mayor doesn't think the city needs to be reassessed. Such a totally incompetent mayor and assessor.
Ingersoll Ave - references being completely and totally renovated but no increase in assessment?
Two of the properties clearly need a message of their own. Read on.

The house on Union St. The agent is the taxpayer paid tax deadbeat crony of the mayor on the board of assessment.
It was originally listed for $339,000, no one willing to pay that high price so she increases the asking price to $399,000. ROFL.
But look at the problem with this one. Look at the official records from the city (the lower half of the image below) – it is listed as a one family house. However the mayor’s tax deadbeat crony on the board of assessment provides the details that it has this carriage house with an apartment. As that apartment is NOT part of official records of the city, it is ILLEGAL.
Based on the city records, this house is getting charged for trash for a one-family, e.g., $224 per year rather than the $448 it should be paying. The same goes for the water and sewer fees!
But the mayor claims there is no need for a reassessment

Look at the city records (the upper part of the image—boxes in gray, white, and blue), the official records show it as a one-family.
But the ad as part of the mayor’s precious taxpayer funded HOMES program CLEARLY show it as a three-family house (see where the photo is and the “Features” on the right side of that)
Therefore, the trash fee should be $672 per year instead of the $224 it is being charged. There should be additional costs for the water and sewer fees as well.
But then it is also advertised as a beauty salon (CLEARLY if you look at the ad, the photos of the interior show the salon items (sink, counters, chairs, dryers, etc) so one might wonder if this should be a commercial property (rather than the city records having it as residential) and therefore the owner should NOT be getting the benefit of city provided trash pick up. And with a beauty salon, it should have metered water as well instead of the homeowners in the city subsidizing an obvious high use of water. Does the owner have a permit to do business on the property? What about zoning?
The taxes listed in the Realty USA ad show as $6,6331. But the taxes should be well over $8,000 if it is a three family as it is described. But again, is it residential or commercial?

But in order to improve the city, the FACTS proving that McCarthy is TOTALLY UNQUALIFIED to be the mayor must be given wide publicity.
The mayor’s has a cheerleader on these boards who says we are “nayboobs” (which is not even a word) thinks the negatives should be ignored and the city will improve by some magic. What a dreamer.
However, what is needed is really needed for the city to be improved is for the FACTS to be shown, the real FACTS, which are supported with evidence (such as those above)
And this is yet another reason why the city must commence an IMMEDIATE and THOROUGH reassessment complete with inside inspections of all the properties – NONE of this where property owners won’t let data collectors inside so they can hide the truths about their properties and pay less than they should while the rest pay too much.
The mayor REFUSES to do a citywide reassessment. He thinks it’s better that some homeowners pay even twice the taxes they should pay, he thinks that is fair because “it all comes down to the levy,” McCarthy has often said, he has indicated that “no matter what, the same amount of taxes must be collected.” So the FACT is that the current mayor is totally incompetent, because he thinks it is legal for some people to pay only 50% of the tax they should pay and it’s ok that others pay 200% of what they should pay---just as long as the same total amount of taxes is collected.

Hmmm, I'm curious, which mc1 are you talking about? Are you talking about the mc1 that stalks another poster on these boards (I mean that literaly btw)? Are you talking about the mc1 that created multiple user names and then duped the entire board into believing it was another poster? Or maybe you're talking about the mc1 that used the death of a posters relative as a means to taunt that poster. Or maybe you're talking about the mc1 that sneaks around talking pictures of the poster without his knowledge. Or taking pictures of a posters private property.
