We can't wait.

Honoring a great guy, Rotterdam-born

And there have been rumors that Tony Stewart will be there, but not to race.

Where?  Sorry but I don't know the driver in the photo. I haven't gotten to many races over the years.  Dirt Track racing rules.  I figure either Fonda or Lebanon Valley most likely LV.  Did you catch the Eldora Truck races the other week.

That would be Jack Johnson! I know the 37 threw you off, but the 12A would be too easy.
I spent my youth rooting against him... I was a Harry Peek fan..but in fairness, Harry was near the end of his career and Jack was peaking.....

I know Jack has serious health issues, I hope he is able to go to and enjoy a well-deserved tribute.
FYI, I think the event is at Fonda

I started racing as a Bill Wimble fan!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Caught some of the truck racing.  In fact, did you hear the 50-50 pot, at least I think it was at the truck race, the winner's share was about $28,000

Yes, as mentioned, it's Fonda.

So right about dirt rulz!!!!

Jack has ALS and he's lived a lot longer than anyone has been expecting him to.   But yet he is fully expected to be there tomorrow.   His son races now, he lives in Rotterdam.  A daughter is married to Andy Bachetti.  Another daughter (in the state of Washington) just died a month ago.

For sure RJ will race tomorrow, but he's not like Jack, he never got it "dialed in" as Jack used to say.   People would suspect a fix if RJ won.  Stewie from Canada wins most of everything there these days.  (He's married to JZ who dated NASCAR's Tony Stewart for quite a while.)

But lots of the long time big names are supposed to be there.  Some still drive, some don't.  But it's unknown who will be there.   I think I mentioned Tony Stewart is rumored to be there, but just to be a spectator, not racing.

We're also wondering if the Thruway could be backed up as much as it was for Thunder 20+ years ago

This turned out to be a very nice event.  We took 5-S and it was backed up quite a ways before the thruway.  Crawling along 5-S at a snails pace, you could see that 3 or 4 lanes to get off the thruway were bumper to bumper.  Almost everyone there had the orange shirts on. Jack telephoned in before the feature to the applause of the crowd.  Stewart won the feature.
