Probably...it's more of a product of the candidate pool than anything else.

I mean, what great choices..

a lunatic
a imbecile
a self promoter
a buffoon
a socialist
a consummate liar
an egomaniac

Look at the candidates, they fit one, and most cases, multiples of these descriptions

Can't disagree that list of candidates leaves much to be desired.
I'm not looking for a perfect PRES...doesn't exist. I want someone that
will lead without political bias, think about USA first and find a way to
resurrect our international position as well as end the constant war zones.
Unfortunately, he/she doesn't exist, so let's see who will give me most
satisfaction from my wish list.

I have seldom found a "perfect candidate" for any political office.  I vote for the electable candidate
who closest fits my views.  IMO, Hillary or Bernie or even Elizabeth would be a vast improvement
over any of the GOP choices.

This thread is getting way off topic, so I reposted the original article. How 'bout ol' Hil blowing through $2 Billion in the first month?

Hillary Clinton Campaign Shuts Down After Blowing Through $2 Billion In First Month
NEWS IN BRIEF
May 19, 2015
Vol 51 Issue 20    Politics · Politicians · Elections · Hillary Clinton · Election 2016

NEW YORK—Having grossly miscalculated the resources required for an 18-month presidential bid, Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton announced Tuesday she had ended her race for the White House after blowing through $2 billion of campaign funds in a single month. “Admittedly, my staff and I haven’t kept a close enough eye on our financials over the past few weeks, and certain of our expenditures, such as the 800,000-square-foot Hillary For America headquarters we broke ground on in Des Moines and those seven backup campaign buses, appear to have been poor decisions,” said Clinton, who faulted several crucial missteps, including the licensing of every song in the Fleetwood Mac catalogue for her campaign appearances and sending two pounds of direct-mail solicitations each day to every man, woman, and child in the nation. “While it seemed a winning strategy at first, buying up all the primetime commercial blocks on every network affiliate in all 50 states was probably ill-advised, as was hiring our 3,000-member campaign team in Puerto Rico, which does not have any electoral votes.” The former secretary of state went on to say she was confident the lessons she had learned from her mistakes this time around would only make her a stronger candidate in 2020.

Sorry...yeah, where did Hil get the $2 billion?  Maybe she blew through it because she just gave a speech about how this country isn't just for millionaires and billionaires, and didn't want to show that her entire campaign is funded by millionaires and billionaires.  Good move Hil!

On what has been for me a particularly depressing day on more levels than I care to relate, you've given me the first belly laugh I've had in a long time. I really needed that thanks.

If I abstained from voting because both Hillary and Jeb are unacceptable to me, and I have no preference for one over the other, I and the other who chose not to vote would fully understand that one or the other candidate would be chosen by those who did vote, much like the last presidential election, when large numbers of Americans sat it out. How then, does one conclude that those who made that choice would be complaining after the election? That doesn't even make sense. And why the name-calling?
The thread was about Hillary's campaign. Hillary. We were discussing how many people are equally dissatisfied with Hillary and Jeb. On topic.
Hillary is one of a couple politicians who has expressed a desire to try to force people to vote. That tells me that she fears exactly such an outcome, an
embarrassingly low turnout if she runs against Bush.

This thread was started as a total spoof. A joke. An article posted from the Onion. When people began to turn it into something else, I reposted the original fake article, just so the thread could return to it's original silliness. The only one who apparently understood the humor here was Cicero.

Tomorrow is "silly Sunday", where I'll be looking for equally ridiculous things to post. Save yourself some grief and don't bother reading anything I post tomorrow. You're wrapped as tight as Bag of Beans. Loosen up and have an occasional laugh.
