Does the city have records indicating rental certificates of occupancy were issued for all the apartments?
If not, why not? It's nearly impossible to not see directly across the street when apartments (some anyway) become vacant and then are again rented, are city employees blind?
What building permits have been issued for those buildings in the past 10 years if any; but judging by looking in the windows of the apartments on the lower floors, did they appear renovated at all?
What is the status of insurance coverage? Did the city ever verify that insurance policies remained in effect, perhaps by picking up a phone and calling the insurance company?
When was the last time city building and code staff went into 100 Jay St to verify what was and was not working?
Address the tax delinquency status of 100 Jay St and the suspiciousness of the name changes of the owners of that place.
Are you going to have your staff look at all the properties in the city owned by Amrit Dabie, sort of owner of 100 Jay St?
If there is no insurance coverage on either or both of these properties, do you plan on taking action to seize assets of either of the two owners?
How many more handouts of taxpayer money are you planning to give to Galesi?

The unemployed collecting welfare or unemployment should be using that money to politically organize. If they stopped wasting their money on rent and food for their families and supported a political party, Schenectady would change. How else do you compete against the wealthy businesses and unions? The poor need to start using their money setting up phone banks and mailing political fliers. They are just too lazy.

many of the poor have been through the 'rich' schenectady public school hyped up on adderall so the union could continue to make the grade....having said that, I don't think it is the teachers responsibility to raise a child coming from a crazy home life any more than I believe the new public health insurance system is responsible to coerce humans into colonoscopys and other 'preventable medicine' and call it healthcare.....
Schenectady has had a very very very fast fall into the bottomless pit of 'save it' by keeping it the same.....I work with a lot of the 'working poor', to use the common phrase, and MOST of them have kids 'medicated' through the schenectady schools and PINS interventions....very very very sad state of affairs....it's another form of redlining not readily discussed...
GE bought solidarity with pretend control of the union and then left, quick as a wink....but left behind the bloated government bureaucracy without infrastructure or reason......

I have lived and worked in at least a half a dozen cities with economies that were depressed because some fortune 500 company left- I never knew who the mayor was and i didnt care EVER.

I'm thinking that mc1 and benny salami who are constantly chanting the McCarthy this McCarthy that mantra should form their own party. The McSalami party. On news 10 the guy that was saved from man who died in fire trying to remove a recliner ,said that Harry could not have moved the chair because it was totally on fire,so the pr team for city hall,is lying about the cause of the fire.I hope ATF investigates thoroughly,but being that code enforcement and other high level people are involved,nothing will happen,and it's a shame.......
