There is a fckn crater on Watt St, that one is definitely car damage if you hit that   I must admit I'm getting pretty good weaving in and out of lanes trying to drive around these potholes.

Works pretty good during the day.

But at night, unless you know there's a pothole there, you really won't know in advance.  And this mayor is such a cheapo with the taxpayers (he only serves his millionaire cronies) that he won't even put some pylons up with reflective material on them in order to warm people, at least about the worst potholes.

So the Mayor of Schenectady has to be an expert in predicting when the snow will melt?

McCarthy said he hopes the weather will cooperate and bring a couple of warm days to help melt the snow.
“Spring will be here shortly,” he said. “If we get two days that are 40 degrees, you will see a dramatic shift in the roadways

Although, I think the fact that the cold weather version costs 5x more than the warm weather version would explain why they wait until the warm weather version can be used.

Yeah, McCarthy won't spend the taxpayers' money to fill the potholes.   He gives away the taxpayers' money to Galesi and the rest of is millionaire cronies downtown.

So the taxpayers' pay almost the highest taxes around, the mayor refuses to provide an essential service to them--filling potholes, and then the taxpayers have to spend even more money to fix their damaged cars.  Naturally you don't have to be concerned, you don't pay taxes and any damage to your mommies' car can be paid by them.

Entire streets are imploding all over the City. McClellan another gateway like Ferry St is a total mess. The City section of Altamont Ave is horrible and needs a total redo not just a typical patch and go.
There is not enough money to fix the many streets ignored for 12 years during the early DEM renaissance period. Another tax increase should solve everything.

Colonie has a lot of potholes.  There are even potholes in Saratoga County.  That is part of living in the frozen Great Northeast.

Yes, but did their Mayors lie and predict weather change and when the snow would melt?
Still waiting for Chicken Little trolls to answer that question about the mayor lies...

If the mayor is being held accountable for a wrong weather prediction than shouldn't the local meteorologists (presuming that the mayor consulted their T.V, or radio reports) bear some responsibility too?

QUESTION:  DID THE MAYOR LIE ABOUT HOW QUICK THE SNOW IS GOING TO MELT AS YOU SAID?

"couple days" "40 degrees"    I still see snow.  There is still lots of snowbanks sticking out in the road, still lots of ice which resulted from the mayor refusing to push snow back to the curbs, so what was there from plowing by weaving in and out of parked cars got driven over, hard packed, and turned to ice, much of it still exists.

March 9 in the newspaper, the mayor wrote a letter.

Excerpt:

Quoted Text
We do not have the staff, equipment or financial resources to do snow removal consistent with the time frames set forth in Schenectady’s snow emergency. After the storms have ended, we will post selected streets 24 hours in advance for snow removal. I have had crews work 24 hours a day (12 hours on and 12 hours off) doing snow removal on several occasions and during their regular scheduled shifts. This is a more cost effective and efficient way to deal with snow removal

The city doesn't have the financial resources?   Why?     The people Schenectady pay far higher taxes than any of the other cities but all the other cities do snow emergency plowing.

So where is all the tax money going?   Oh yeah, paying the taxes of the millionaires and billionaire political cronies.

Funny, there is money to do 12 hours on and 12 hours off, on OT, to do snow "removal."

But there is no money to do 12 hours on and 12 hours off, on OT, to push snow back to the curb?   Oh that's right, they cut police staffing so there are fewer police so probably not enough staff to issue tickets in order to do the correct snowplowing.

It seems like the mayor may not know the difference between plowing and snow removal because as per the city law, the "snow emergency" (alternate cite parking) is not snow "removal"

We love the winter skiing, but look forward now to opening the pool, so hopefully the snow will melt soon

Aw, the mamas' boy who never grew up, does not pay taxes, hates the fact that smart people can catch the mayor in lies and can cite exactly the quotes--lies--from the mayor and provide the evidence to prove the statements are lies

There are potholes (craters) everywhere!!!
They had a news report on tv that showed almost all northeast states discussing their historic pot hole problems.

But let's be fair here.....this year is NOT the year to bit@h about pot holes.
THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.....beyond Schenectady.
We have driven on roads, in and out of Schenectady, that NEVER had pot holes due to winter conditions...but certainly do this year.
There are plenty of past winters to bit@h about Schenectady roads.....just not this one.

There are certain roads inside and outside Schenectady County that seem to get potholes in the same general area .. every year. Now that the late winter/early spring freeze-thaw cycle has begun, we will probably see some more potholes appearing.  It could be worse - 100 years ago almost all roads outside the city were dirt roads -- that would make our current situation look like a piece of cake.

I must ask what the hell are they using right now to fill in the potholes, it sure doesn't look like blacktop and it looks as if its shrinking? A few holes they repaired on Nott Terrace a few days ago are basically sunk back in.
