Lot of those looked like addicts. It is not uncommon for drug locations to have addicts hanging out there to use and steer customers to the sellers. They won't get prison. Typically, very short jail sentences, if that. They will get referrals for treatment. Some won't avail themselves of the opportunity. Others will be unsuccessful. Society has a ways to go to provide effective and affordable treatment options. |

No, the beginning was 50 years ago. A hundred billion dollars later and all we did was escalate it to murderous gangsterism. Totally not like we did with alcohol prohibition. But hey, keep on spending taxpayers money while moving closer and closer to bankruptcy. While the guards, judges, cops and lawyers all live the good life. The perpetuation of high paying enforcement related jobs is the goal for all the participants. Same as the unsustainable military industry.
