ROTTERDAM- Rotterdam police are investigating a burglary to the Altamont Ave Mobil station that occurred Sunday night.
Police were called to 1210 Altamont Ave at around 4:30 a.m. after the employee in charge of opening the store noticed that the front door was shattered, after it had apparently been struck by a large rock. A review of the surveillance video shows that the suspect stole an undetermined amount of rolled coins and two 16oz. beers befrore fleeing the store.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Rotterdam police at 355-7397.

I think Rotterdam residents who pay high taxes to support a police department and other government officials have a right to complain about rampant crime. No one needs to move (as if they could sell there house). People have the right to speak up.

Not paying police enough...they need a well funded pension so they have morale to catch the criminals. Studies show that 6 figure salaries for officers stops crime in its tracks. Just like 6 figure school teacher results in better educated kids. This is well known.

sooooo sorry if I sound offensive. I just don't do 'victims' well. And the bit@hers come across like they are 'victims' to a system they OBVIOUSLY can't change.....and won't!!!! Some of the complainers make it sound like it's a 'Dem thing'. When in all reality....it would be the SAME if it was a 'Rep thing'....just names and faces would be different. All I can say....is that if after over 10 years of the 'same old same old' in a community I find corrupt (that I was raising a family in)....i'd be outta there!!!! Did it....Done it!!! OH....and as a side note....this message board is NOT the gazette or the TU! It doesn't come close to the gazetto's or the TU's readership. I daresay, that the readership here has probably dropped some because of all the whining. After awhile it's not even necessary to read some posters comments, because they repeat the same thing over and over and over. Heck, I could probably post for some of these folks, because I already know what they'll say.
