Actually, in France, it isn't perfectly fine to rail against Jews. In 2009, the French government actually charged Charlie Hebdo cartoonist with a "hate crime" for writing a satirical column about Sarcozy's son converting to Judaism for financial reasons. He was also fired from his job for not apologizing.
Oh yeah...And a French comedian whose material contains jokes about Jews is also banned from performing by the French government. And he is banned from even ENTERING the UK.

Except for the fact that many western democracies have some of the most draconian laws that criminalize freedom of expression when it pertains to one group of minorities within their country.

Well, nobody really has the exact number that defines a "Holocaust". I assume 6 million. See, the West imposed sanctions on Iraq in the 90's that resulted in about 500K Iraqis dying from diseases that were preventable, and that is apparently not a holocaust. You combine that number of 500K killed during the 90's with the hundreds of thousands killed during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, and the tens of thousands killed in the first gulf war, putting the number up over 1 million. I have to guess that is still not considered a holocaust, since it hasn't been reported as such in the western media. And this is just the number of dead Muslims in Iraq. This doesn't factor in Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, or the number of other Muslim countries that are under constant siege by western aggressors.
So, when 3 Muslims attack a newspaper that puts out propaganda that dehumanizes a civilization that has been getting systematically slaughtered by western governments over the past 25 years, I don't condone it, but it really isn't a shock. Especially when the government of France prosecutes those producing anti-Zionist propaganda, but does nothing to address anti-Muslim propaganda.
