Bipolar does not equal violent. It is being used as an excuse to take away responsibility from this girl and the completely disfunctional family life this boy lived in. Looking up his family on Facebook is astonishing. Apparently his mother has had somewhere between 8-10 kids with a variety of men and has lost custody of all. This isn't the first child the aunt took in. The house is in deplorable condition and now family members from Florida are demanding answers from the local family on how anyone could allow the children to live int hear conditions. These children have not been living well.

As Sheriff Apple stated yesterday.....cannot answer questions regarding anything that is in the best interest of the children.....there are many families

living in deplorable conditions....and  society today turns their heads and shoves it under the rug.....CPS probably had a hand in all this...and it

doesn't matter why or who or what......we can only pray for the 2 remaining children that they stay safe and are going to have a chance in life.....don't judge

what has happened .....only to look to tomorrow and hope that justice will be done.....the children need to be safe and allow the right people to take care

of what needs to be accomplished...after watching the news conference with Sheriff Apple yesterday afternoon,  I am confident that Sheriff  Apple and

all involved will see to it that it is done....these men wore their hearts on their sleeves and this tragedy hit home.....

I think bipolar disorder has become a catchall diagnosis because when a doctor sees you, she has to use some kind of code for billing in order to be paid. This young woman may or may not be bipolar, but even if she is, that isn't what's "wrong" with her.
She appears to be using heroin.
There are people with the same surname in that general area who get arrested for some colorful things. I don't know if they are related or not.
I'm guessing that when you have to give up a child and you send them to a close relative, CPS doesn't get as involved. I think that there are probably lots of kids living in some fairly squalid conditions in more rural areas, they aren't that visible.

we made this civilization and have deemed hollywood/sports figures/politicians/prominent business owners to get away with the same
crap, only they have $$$ and connections to hide it......some abuse isn't so obvious.....but CPS only 'helps' those poor poor folks(tic)
because those crazy people in shiny suits don't need interference, ie: michael jackson and the like......

I think society likes to fake itself into believing 'at least I'm not one of those poor people that don't know better'......

it's a tragedy that this happened but 'these people' are no worse than any one else.....human is human

so before we start the 'someone has got to do something' conversation, let's look around at the overall set up of society and realize
that some humans just don't find it makes sense to them....

public schools try very hard at cookie cutting cogs for the system and sometimes just fu(k some people up....and I'm believing more
and more that ADD/ADHD/bipolar etc etc are tossed around as labels onto humans, who then get it into their psyche that they are
now less than other successful humans and become addicts to the drugs prescribed walking around with a 'sentence' that's passed
on them by the authority.....

This isn't some sort of lofty judgement by shiney suits; this child's parent's failed to provide the most basic care needed for a child. It's not a debate of parenting styles or providing excess. They left him in that home.

Time will tell if this action was solely committed by the 19 year old cousin, or if there where other family members involved. They certainly were all over facebook spreading the same lies about the abduction; defending this girl when the glaring inconsistencies where pointed out to them. And people began questioning this story immediately.

OF COURSE they left him there.....it was 'family' and the government gave that 'family' guardianship....everyone was happy

I'm certainly NOT defending anyone but humans....anyone who thinks humans, be it themselves or their own family or the
government is something special, are sadly mistaken.

we can compartmentalize this all we want and make a demon/scapegoat out of one person so we all feel better because this
is what religion/government teaches.....we are a land of laws as Jesus learned......what we forget is that EVERYONE is
capable in one form or another......narcissism is for survival

I am clearly not judging this sad situaltion.
however, i do question 'the system'.

First...the biological parents were undeniably negligent. that's a no brainer.

Going beyond that.....everyone should be questioning....
1. How and who diagnosed this 19 yr old with bi-polar disorder and recommended the meds?
2. How much input and research did CPS put in this?...was there a case worker?

we don't know all the facts and may never.....but again....i would start with 'the system' for questions.

this is what happens folks when parents aren't parents....for whatever reason....GOV ALMIGHTY becomes the parents choosing to do what is in 'the best interest' of the kids.

It was the aunt that had the custody. Her only negative or red flag would have been a dirty house. I think there are plenty of kids living relatively happy lives  in filthy conditions, and if CPS had been involved at all, the house might have been in better condition on that day. I didn't catch how long the kids had been living there.
I'm not defending the family or CPS. I'm just pointing out that when kids are living with family, there has to be some kind of incident or complaint before anyone goes checking up.
So far it's just been on the edges, but this and that other recent murder just illustrates the decline of civilization going on all around us. Little children with only the illusion of someone caring for them. Government isn't going to help much, that's one of the institutions that's in decline as well.

I'm fairly  certain it was more than just a dirty house. Reports said serious deficiencies and not fit for human habitation. People demand animals not live in these type of conditions yet make all sorts excuses about government interference when it comes to children.

Family me where said that the children have been living there a year.
