This morning, on Michigan Ave and Woolsey.   No one hurt.

Crime is going down, don't cha know.   The "city" is in a renaissance, the taxpayers are making the city/co/plex leaders rich and their downtown millionaire cronies are laughing all the way to the bank.

City is in a renaissance?   Didn't you know that all houses for sale are receiving multiple offers, everyone increasing their offers, there's a bidding war in the hot real estate market in the city.

And with every passing year, the mayor refuses to address the assessment value.   Even those who cheer the loudest absolutely refuse to buy a house in the city, even when houses are offered for $40,000 and the city is handing out money for home purchases and renos like ii's water.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

These are the death throes of a neighborhood. Whether or not there will be a rebirth remains to be seen, but I doubt it.

The story didn't say what time, during the nighttime morning hours, during daytime morning.

But either way, a child could have been killed with a bullet going through a house, a child could have been killed waiting for a school bus if it was that time of day, or any elderly person, like that nun, could have been killed any time of the day, getting in or out of the car.  Or the mail carrier delivering the mail, a resident visiting a neighbor, etc.

But the city leaders won't use the taxpayers' money for the neighborhoods, only for downtown.   But the "mayor and his team are doing a wonderful job," and "the city is in a renaissance."

Yeah, sure.

My uncle lived on Woolsey Street for 60 years without gunfire. Disgusting what's happened across the City under the present incompetents. Violent crime UP-Taxes UP
-but the election joke mailers claim all is well. Renaissance and better than 2003 when taxes where 55% less. Ya mean when we actually had stores and not just governmental gin mills on State St? The song remains the same.

Just learned, it happened just before 10 a.m. today.

So, shots fired in a residential neighborhood when there could be people out and about, driving through, opening their door to get their mail, maybe an elderly person going out to their car to go to a doctor appointment, maybe someone visiting a homebound person (a-hem).

Those who are from outside the city, don't experience daily life, don't pay the high taxes, etc. cheer the loudest saying the city is doing so wonderful, improving oh so much, well, won't even attend church in the city.

While the city IS improving, there is still much more work to be done. I have said that right along -- although certain ignorant dumbass nayboobs refuse to hear that -- they just want to be argumentative terrorists who continually tear down rather than build up the community.  In the meantime, I will continue to remain positive and will work constructively through BOTH of the parishes, which ARE located IN THE CITY (one in Mont Pleasant and the other on the city's Northside, that I belong to and attend .. work through and with the parishes to be a positive force for good and continue moving ALL of the city in a postive direction.

Your ignorant responses don't solve any problems.  But working TOGETHER ... WITH OTHERS ... IN the community  .. and WITH city, county and state officials DOES make a difference.

While the city IS improving...deleted drivel...

The ONLY thing that is improving in the city is downtown....and the rest of the city is paying the price... with increased tax burden, more foreclosed housing, an out of service bridge, warzone neighborhoods...and the downtown business owners, who ALL live outside the city limits, are laughing all the way to the bank.

Not just laughing all the way to the bank...but telling you that you should be grateful they are accepting your money in exchange for doing business in your city.
