So stumbling over his words at the council meeting.

Riggi, the ONLY ONE true representative of the TAXPAYERS spoke to clarify that he was opposed to the corporate welfare forced by the city and plex to give to Galesi with the demo of a building owned by billionaire Galesi.

McThief is stumbling over his words as he is putting the blame on HUD.

Everyone should answer this question.   If you are a homeowner in the city paying almost the highest taxes in the whole state, and you have a garage in your yard that must be demolished, YOU as the homeowner is required to pay for it's demo.  On top of that, if it's a code issue the city WILL penalize you even if you cannot afford to demo the garage.   Then they will do the demo and add it to your tax bill.

So can those who claim the mayor is doing a wonderful job explain why a billionaire should not be required to pay for a demo of a building he owns?  Why doesn't the city force Galesi to pay for his own.

Oh that's right, the kickbacks.

I guess it's too bad that the party that leads the fed govt and the state govt and the county govt, and the city govt, and metroplex are all taking care of each other, covering up the corruption.  Sad thing is that if any taxpayer foiled for info, these leaders would find someway to deny giving out the requested info.

Therefore it is incumbent on intelligent people, on boards like these, to keep getting the truth out and producing the evidence.  Those who make statements with no evidence need to constantly be challenged to produce evidence otherwise they are they are nothing more than corrupt themselves or they are trying to get their noses further up the asses of the politicians.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

The voting public spoke out on election day with their overwhelming approval of all city officials and policies. Get over it.

That's what happens when the leaders keep the truth hushed.  I've said many times, the people look at the fancy new buildings downtown and do not realize that they largely paid for the building/redo AND they are paying the taxes on the properties.   People just do not know.  The mayor and his dem team NEVER clearly explain to the homeowners that through their low incomes, they are being taxed to pay the taxes of billionaire Galesi.

Interesting that people can predict the hypothetical future and know exactly what imagined individuals they don't even know would all do.
Schenectady's troubles aren't really unique. Other communities suffer from the same pillaging supported by those who get to vote even though they don't have to pay for any of the pillaging personally, or think they don't. It is one of the defects of democracy, we haven't figured out what to do about the demagogues. The property tax cap was supposed to help, but it isn't a real tax cap, just a gimmick.
I don't know what going down to city hall and yelling for the cameras would do. I don't find that kind of thing particularly constructive myself.

McThief doesn't address the issues becasue he knows the public are a bunch of low life voters who will keep voting for him because he has a D next to his name at the election box. Schenectady voters will continue to vote the DEMS in to power so long the DEMS keep cutting the welfare checks. City of Schenectady is no place to live, work or play. The DEMS created a Facade that things are great but once you get in to the house it is a disaster!

I talked to  quite a few people, it was a competition to see who got the least and how much $$ the state wasted.....
for votes.

In any other City Mayor McCheese would be forced to resign in disgrace. Except Albany which is where we are headed. The voters need someone to vote for. It's hard to win when  you don't answer Joseph Goebbels and the endless junk mail that fills the mailbox. Vince Riggi made his bones in City Hall as the people's advocate. He didn't have to mail.
McCheese is going to lose because property values are tanking because of his DEM confiscatory taxes. And the tenants are waking up that the rents are so high because the
taxes are too high. There are no new carcasses to pick over. And no amount of new gin mills will turn this mess around.

One of the people I knew who was in favor of the downtown government gin mills dropped dead before age 40 due to alcohol-related heart problems. Our government spends how much due to the public health issue of chronic alcoholism, and then local government uses taxpayer funds to subsidize drinking establishments?
I am not against drinking, bars, or bar owners. I just wonder why people aren't more concerned about the rights of those forced to support something they consider wrong. We pushed out that porn shop because it was "bad', but the last time I looked, they had been paying their own way, hadn't they?

Union Inn is closed after trying to sell for years. Spoke to the owners of two older gin mills that are barely scraping by. The pie shrinks and the Metrograft goofs keep cutting it into smaller pieces. Mayor
McCheese has no clue about what to do and wanted to increase DEM confiscatory taxes another 3% before stopped by Vince Riggi. The song remains the same. Less payors paying more while the DEM 1% pays
nothing and refuses to make even a minimum PILOT payment to help the oppressed County taxpayers. BTW, great accomplishment Joseph Goebbels getting one of the 1,200 foreclosed City eyesore finally
knocked down. Smells like renaissance in Mt P and Ham Hill!
