3,699,999 voters could have stayed home.  You only need 1 vote.

One thing for sure... that one vote isn't YOURS!

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

ASStorino was so good that even REPS stayed away from him. Joanie Mahoney is a Republican County Exec and campaigned for
and did ads for Cuomo, not ASStorino. I bet he disappears from the political arena within next few years.

Yeah... Astorino got 15% of eligible voters, and Cuomo got just under 18%.  Great day for DEMOCRACY.  66% had no interest in either candidate or the charade.LOL

If a poorly funded, lackluster campaigner could do as well as he did against Cuomo - can you imagine what a stronger, better financed candidate could have accomplished?   The GOP needs to do a better job of recruiting candidates to run for state-wide office and a better job raising money for them.  New York is definitely a "purple state" and the GOP should be doing much better than it has been doing in the past several years.

The GOP needs to do a better job of getting quality candidates to run for state-wide office, not a loser like
ASSterino. Use the "under funded" card all you want. With small turn out enough people saw through
the fake ASSterino and didn't vote for him. I already predicted he will disappear from politics in the
not to distant future...bet on it!

Something could be said about the fake Cuomo.  His poor showing pretty much puts a damper on his plans to run for national office.  I predict that he'll face a primary challenge if he chooses to run for a 3rd term in 2008.

Astortino was underfunded.  Cuomo had an enormous campaign war chest and ran a slimey, blatantly nasty campaign -- and ended up falling way short of what he and his campaign had been hoping for.  Andrew Cuomo is certainly nothing like Mario Cuomo.  If he were more like his father, he'd have run a more noble campaign and been reelected with 65% of the vote.

So you are excusing the ASStorino false claims and failure to address his issues.
He was beat decisively during the televised debate and acting like the arrogant jerk, that he is,
but you don't believe that had anything to do with it? Underfunded is an excuse, plain and simple.
I'm not totally fond of much of Cuomo's policies, especially safe act. But when the choices were presented,
Cuomo was the better choice. ASStorino wouldn't have made it past 1 term!

I think both Astorino and Cuomo came across as arrogant in the campaign and the debates.  Saying that Cuomo was the better choice was like saying that one has a "better choice" when choosing between say having chronic constipation or chronic diarrhea as a side effect from a medicine.  In a state our size, we should have been able to come up with some better candidates to choose between for Governor .. hell .. for a lot of the offices that were up for election.

Yeah, I think Astorino was underfunded.  The GOP can't seem to find good state-wide candidates willing to run and back them up properly in order to get them elected.

cuomo had NOTHING to do with democrats.....

it's all about deep pockets and the fear factor
