Based on the results, the only conclusion that a reasonable person can draw is that the voters in the city recognize that Mayor McCarthy and the City Council ARE leading the city in the right direction.

IS THIS THE RIGHT DIRECTION??????   --- UPDATED YESTERDAY (NOV 4) AND STILL TAX DELINQUENT

IS THIS THE RIGHT DIRECTION??????

Second - you and your ilk defended the deadbeats and absentee owners who haven't paid their property taxes and thus forcing everyone else to pay more.

Like the politically connected of the mayor, dem council, and plex who are deadbeats who haven't paid their property taxes thus forcing everyone else to pay more.

Is this really the right direction for the city to being doing in?     Allowing the politically connected to keep their homes even though they are tax deadbeats who force the rest of he homeowners to pay more?

Let's see if the one board member who claims the city is in a renaissance and supports the mayor and council says.   Oh, he will NOT address this one, not with a 10 ft pole.

A mayor who keeps this brutal crime out of the news before Election Day so the people won't know about it

Ha Ha Ha !!!!!   The answer is simple.  Mayor McCarthy and City Council has been given an overwhelming mandate of approval and will continue to be working hard and moving the city forward.   In the meantime, the he/she monkey will remain locked in the attic "spanking" him/herself and fling hi/her poop around in jealous rage.   ROFL

How are the taxes on a $139000 house only $400 a year?

The taxes are not $400 per year.   The total tax shown in the upper section is  for the school tax ONLY is $1,1829 WITH the senior STAR enhanced exemption EXCLUDING interest and penalties on the delinquent amount for the 2014-15 school tax year.

The $457 amount is the amount due for EACH QUARTERLY payment.  Remember, Schenectady, the city, has quarterly payments for it's taxes.  So the first quarterly installment was due Sept 2, but they did not pay to date.   The second quarterly payment was due October 31 and they have not paid that to date.  Then it shows the amounts due for each the 3rd and 4th quarterly payment.

Just think, if they did not have the senior STAR the total school taxes alone on a small lot in the city with a small house in an area which has little parking, has a market value of $113,000 (calculated as per the equalization rate but most likely is much less) would pay $3,160.   Then your talking a total combined city and county tax rate of $21 per thousand which means just over $2,900 in taxes there PLUS about $700 in "fees."

So here is this relatively small 1800 sq ft house on a tiny lot of about 2,600 sq ft, a house worth only about $110,000 would pay just shy of $6,800 per year in a total tax bill.  And the taxes go up every year while the home value goes down.   But remember "reasonable people believe the mayor and dems on the council are leading the city in the right direction."   You can buy a house twice the size valued 2 to 3 times as much, with half or close to half the tax bill of city if you buy outside of the city, AND the value of the house increases with every passing year.

But the most important message in this is that those who are close allies/political cronies of the mayor and his dem council are allowed to be tax deadbeats without losing their house.

And the second most important messages it that those who are close allies/political cronies of the mayor are allowed to be tax deadbeats thus causing the rest of the good homeowners in the city to pay higher taxes.

Remember, it was DV's very own words, he stated tax deadbeats cause the rest of the homeowners to pay more.   So DV, does that mean that metroplex architect and the mayor's board of assessment member/city taxpayer paid real estate agent are causing the rest of the homeowners to pay higher taxes?????   Oh, DV won't answer that question.

Oh, DV LIED AGAIN.   He claimed he blocked us but he did not

So DV, if you even have the GUTS to answer this, you are saying that the annual reduction in the city's tax base means the city is moving in the right direction?

So DV, if you even have the GUTS to answer this, you are saying that the fact that home values in the city are tanking, that homeowners are underwater on their mortgages, that homeowners cannot refinance because they owe more than their house is worth, that houses sell for less than homeowners owe on their mortgage, that houses take two years to sell --- you are saying that these things mean the city is moving in the right direction?

So DV, if you even have the GUTS to answer this, you are saying that cutting essential services to the taxpayers in the neighborhoods while increasing their tax bills means that the city is moving in the right direction?

So DV, if you even have the GUTS to answer this, you are that the kick backs given by Galesi (and others) in return for the homeowners being forced to pay the downtown taxes (under threat of losing their homes) is a move in the right direction?

There is DV, masquerading as a Catholic, and supporting the poor paying the taxes of the ultra rich is socially and morally acceptable and  claiming that the city doing this is moving the city in the right direction.

There is DV, masquerading as a Catholic and avoiding putting his pinky toe in the city (by leaving the city to make is appearance in a church) , and supporting the poor paying the delinquent taxes of the political cronies of the mayor and his council, means the city is moving in the right direction.

The direction that the Mayor and his team is going is bankruptcy! The city has no surplus they continue to raise taxes and fees. The Mayor and his team is so entrenched with Developers they don't care about the poor people in Schenectady. Look around you folks that voted for Kosiur and Undertaker. Things will not change there will be more downtown development while the Mayor ignores the Ghetto!

there will ALWAYS be downtown development no matter if they are dems or reps!!!
I've said it a gazillion times......the reps want to control what the dems have.
ya know....that thing called METROPLEX/GILLEN that the reps created??

the cheerleaders are obviously the VOTERS!!!!
they clearly want this direction to continue!!!!!
based on the outcome of this election............the majority spoke....so it is what it is!

EXACTLY! What mandate? Mayor McCheese won by 80 votes after a phone smear. BTW, it's hard to win when the DEMS flood the mailbox with 10 lying
pieces attacking the Alliance Party before it existed. Things are already in motion for a real opposition as many thinking DEMS [not on this board} have had enough of the DEM
confiscatory taxes and fiscal incompetent "leaders". Amedore wins, Farley beats Thorn by the biggest landslide ever, Polk gets more votes than Cuomo in the County despite the
machine tricks-there are positive developments. Next year the City opposition will actually mail and contrast candidates. Not just a last minute ad in a paper few voters read.

Ha Ha Ha !!!!!   DV THINKS that votes by about 30% of the voters of the city for the dem party puppets is an an "overwhelming mandate of approval"

It's a little hard to lose when you are on 4 lines and have a pile of DEM BS mailers filling every registered voters mailbox. If the press did a bit of fact checking and the REPS actually mailed a piece maybe
things would improve. Vince Riggi will win Mayor bigger than George Amedore and Hugh Farley just did. The REP tidal wave is coming to Schenectady County. Like everything else we are in a time warp.
