The project should be aimed at bringing middle and upper income family units back into the city.  The city and Metroplex should be targeting Hamilton Hill to become like Federal Hill in Baltimore.

And just HOW to you suggest the city attract people of better means?

Um DV, again, proof that you NEVER put even a pinky toe IN the city.  IF you ever went INTO the city or paid attention to the houses for sale, you would find that there are many absolutely beautiful houses in nicer neighborhoods that are for sale.   And their prices are so low it's unbelievable.   And the prices are falling even more, so people CAN afford to buy these houses DV.

But this is proof that you have NEVER owned a house in your life nor been a taxpayer.   You absolutely no comprehension whatsoever about home values, equity, and taxes.    The city will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER attract people of better incomes to buy a house that the homeowner will pay double the taxes than elsewhere just because they would be paying their own taxes PLUS the taxes of the downtown millionaires and billionaires!   People do NOT buy houses in order to be underwater on their mortgage.   People do NOT buy a houses that lose value as massively as in Schenectady.   The city has the SECOND HIGHEST equalization rate in the whole state of NY!    That should tell you something!  (but of course you don't know what an equalization rate is, and the only way YOU could define it is by copying and pasting from a website, you would NEVER explain in your own words with explanation, examples)  AND the rate increases each and every year.

DV, explain WHY a magnificent house, assessed for $182,000, started off with an asking price of a pittance of $149,000 I think it was, and took two years to sell?    Why DV????    Can you address that?    It took two years to sell and sold for just $101,000.    Why DV?   Why did it take two years to sell?   This is where you are TOTALLY BLIND and you have no experience or knowledge whatsoever in home ownership, taxes, etc.

People of better financial means have brains - they know it would be FINANCIAL SUICIDE to buy a house IN Schenectady when YOUR buddy dems at the city/co/plex STEALS from the homeowners, FORCING them to pay the taxes of their millionaire and billionaire political cronies downtown, some of whom are tax deadbeats.

But of course, you will NOT address the city making homeowners pay the taxes of downtown, you will NOT address the fact that people do NOT buy houses that fall in value, you will NOT address the massively falling tax base in the city, you will NOT address the increase in taxes with corresponding reduction in essential services to the taxpayers in their neighborhoods.   Just PRETEND you have us on ignore.

Marva Issaccs is not going to get cheap rents on the Hill if her buddies at city hall continue to raise taxes and fees. A developer will not pour millions in the ghetto to rent it for $300 a month per apartment. Developers want to make money ask Galesi. Lets get real! Marva is a big supporter of the DEMS she always gives praises to these misfits at the council meetings. Sorry Marva the DEMS will not give you any handout SO STOP SUPPORTING AND VOTING FOR THEM!

So true.  So true.   There is not a business around that is willing to open IN the city without handouts from the taxpayers.   Heck, the city cannot even get a department store of any sort.   City filled with low income people and not even Walmart will enter the city and open up a store!

Hamilton Hill is not the city's only ghetto... Mt Pleasant is just as bad, if not worse...Next on the list is Bellevue...
But keeping on pouring millions into downtown so that Galessi and his rich buddies can get richer....

Exactly.  not as long as the city/co/plex leaders have the taxes so high because of all the exemptions given out to downtown.

However, you notice that someone will NOT respond and address the high taxes (which are due to the tax exemptions primarily)
