In every renaissance home prices tank and demolitions skyrocket- no? The City's tax base is collapsing because of 40 years of DEM moron City Councils who's only concern is screwing the taxpayer. Entire blocks of Ham Hill and Mt P are in foreclosure. There are no more carcasses to pick over.

What is the latest Mayor McCheese/Metrograft plan to turn it around? Right open more gin mills and improving curbing on Lower State. Keep the DEM implosion going re-elect
Lumpy Kosiur and the undertaker. They will keep the okey-doke going for another year until the Alliance Real CONS sweep in 2015.

This election will be a upset the DEMS will lose the 2 city counil seat. Vince Riggi needs help the DEMS sitting ducks are not doing what the people put them there to do. Voters will show up at the polls and vote for the REP/ALLIANCE candidates  as a referendum to McCarthy's dog kennel treatement/ failed H.O.M.E.S program/ HIGH TAX INCREASES/ high crimes and political corruption with the Mayor and the rich downtown developers. These are all great reasons to vote the DEMS OUT OF OFFICE!

Bravo! Let the DEMS sit home. McCheese is a total failure and laughing stock. He wants to increase your confiscatory taxes even more this year. So what if there are a record
number of foreclosures and property values are crashing because of total DEM incompetence? It's a renaissance! Wake up and vote for Kelleher/Barnes for City Council-Ken Litz
for County Court. It cracks me up to see DEM signs with a For Sale in front of so many homes. We can't afford Lumpy Kosiur and the undertaker to vote for more DEM moron taxes and fees. You can't replace a window, have a poodle or garage sale without running to City Hall to be shaken down by these horrible DEM incompetents.

Gotta replace your window on Sunday when codes aren't working, maybe with this post they'll start now make it seven days a week instead of six, out staring down homeowners holding a paintbrush. Another tidbit, plumber
told me don't
ever put an old toilet out front of your house on garbage day or any day for that matter. Big money fines for that one. The half dozen or so extra code people hired have to justify their positions, that was the
deal.

Under the DEMOCRATS rulership you can't own a gun, you can't own a dog, you can't buy more than one house, you can't fix your house, you can't buy health insurance what you prefer. Is it me or America is becoming a communist country. You can only do what the government tells you what to do. America is no longer a FREE country under the DEMOCRATS control. Think about this folks when you get in to that voting booth on NOV 4th. #YOUR FREEDOM AND RIGHTS ARE BEING TAKEN AWAY BY THE DEMOCRATS IN POWER.

Don't kid yourself!!! The reps have been part of this 'creation' for decades!!!
As soon as 911 happened GWB initiated just about every restriction on the 'free western world' in history!!!
AND....the people accepted it as a 'safety net'!!!! That was a RAH RAH CHEER CHEER!!!
Reps and Dems alike shook their pom poms!!!

It's like a football game.....the reps put the play in motion and the dems take the ball and run with it.....TOUCHDOWN!!!
The only difference is that the reps played a major part in this 'football game'...so to say!

Since 1959, 7 people have held the position of Mayor of Schenectady. 4 Republicans and 3 Democrats.

If you take into consideration the decline of the city began in the mid '60's thru the '70's, then the decline was under  Republican Mayors. I'm not saying the Democrats have distinguished themselves during their time in power. I am saying be careful what you wish for. Sometimes the other side of the coin is the same as the one you're looking at.

Um, you forget that prior to 1980 the city only had a ceremonial mayor.   Remember there was a vote in 1978 to change from a city manager form of government to a strong mayor for of government.   There was a referendum held, the people spoke, they wanted a strong mayor form of government but the dem Dave Roberts did not like what the people said, stomped his feet, and he forced a second referendum, held in June 1979.  But once again [people spoke.

So therefore, 3 strong mayor Democrats, and 2 strong mayor republicans.    Karen Johnson shoved an almost 30% tax increase on the homeowners.

Jurzynski tried to increase taxes by 30% in about 1999 by proposing the trash tax and the dems, including the mayor full of BS Stratton, unanimously said NO to a trash fee.

Then dem Stratton gets in and the "honorable HYPOCRITE mayor"  proposes a huge hike in taxes by proposing a trash tax.   Stratton was totally opposed to a trash tax under Jurzynski, but then as strong mayor he basically said it was going to be the saving grace for the city and with his dem majoriy council shoved that tax down the throats of the financially struggling people in the city.

Both Stratton and his APPOINTED successor McThief (non deductible for tax purposes) shoved trash tax increases on the homeowners.   And god help the people who have two family houses.  There are many two family houses where you have a single person downstairs owning the house and a single person upstairs and together they generate one can of trash per week but they pay way far more than a one family of 4 kids.   But they that owner has to pay well over $400 to have one can of trash picked up a week, and maybe a half can of recyclables.

Then on top of all this the mayor full of BS and his dem buddies on the council chose to exempt all the millionaires downtown from paying taxes, and the city most certainly did not make one red cent reduction in spending, rather they still increased the levy every year and the financially struggling homeowners had to pay the taxes of the lavish palaces downtown.

Then the dems had the nerve to exempt GE from paying property and school taxes, who pays that?   The financially struggling homeowners.

What do the financially struggling homeowners get in return for paying the higher taxes?   Home values falling, the dems put many homeowners underwater on their mortgages because they owe more than their houses are worth.   The taxpayer homeowners have had services cut by the city, roads don't get paved, potholes don't get fixed, and look now, the city has an obligation under state law to keep assessments up to date and the city taxpayers pay for that service but the city dems have eliminated the maintenance of the assessment roll by their refusal to do a citywide reassessment at a time when the property values are falling so much that the city has the second highest equalization rate in the whole state of NY!

"Frankie and Jersey"  had negative leadership with respect to the police dept

BS and McThief impact more homeowners negatively because of the taxes.

If you didn't have need to call a police officer to respond to anything, or no police officer harassed you,  you probably weren't as concerned about the PD, but by the same token, it's just a few, well, maybe more than a few, bad apples.

But stealing money from the homeowners to give to the millionaires and billionaires and to steal under threat of taking peoples homes, that's the lowest of the low life city leaders in all of history.
