OMG, you won't believe this but I got trapped under a refrigerator that fell on me in 1959.

I was a much younger dumbasss than today and was swinging on the refrigerator door when it tipped over and pinned me.

Luckily the doors didn't open all the way it or would have really hurt.

My little sister is an RN ( a real resgistered Nurse) in a big hospital in a big city. Many of her friends are nurses-

a couple things she told me as of last Friday- no ebola orientation as of yet

- if a suspected ebola patient comes in the hospital- she and her friends will  slowly back up out of the room and sign out sick for the rest f the day

- any 911 calls regarding ebola are handled by hazmat at the location- which is locked down 100 per cent - blood is drawn test results within 24 hrs

- ebola usually  burns itself out- like try and start a fire with a sheet of toilet paper- you better be quick

Senders- have yu ever seen anyone die from the flu ? Just wondering if they put that on the death certificate

Does she work for the ED or ICU? I am aware that some hospitals are beginning training at the targeted groups that would be coming in contact with a patient.
Either way, If she works in NY, she should start receiving some training within the next week. DOH ordered PPE training for all hospital personnel who in hospitals.

Ahh, I don't know what Or is doing to prep. I've just heard bits and pieces about NY stuff. Here they have to start training soon though I think the level and intensity can be based on what the employee's role is. An aide on a regular medical floor won't get the training that the ICU nurse would get for example. It keeps changing by the day though.

My sister has medical friends up and down the west coast- like I said as of last friday nothing- nada-zippo

she no longer does emergency or intensive- her nerves ar shot- and yes it is changing by the day- even today !

Fun fact---more Americans have married Larry King than contracted Ebola.

elderly people, but it's not the flu that kills you,,,,it's the complications from your body's reaction to it.....you're either
strong or weak....

as for suspected ebola,,,,I would back out of the room.....that's just something you sign up to do, specifically....like
volunteering to go to the country it was to help out,,,WITH THE PROPER EQUIPMENT....you don't bring it home.

I don't think I've ever seen it used on death cert......reason for death is a joke and not science.....unless we want to do
autopsies on everyone that dies....the ACA couldn't afford it.....but healthcare quality measures are getting out of hand...

we will be priced out of actual care.....but, I digress....
