While hiking back from a gorgeous day at 9 corners lake this afternoon, we spotted a Fisher crossing
the trail ahead of us. Once he saw us he disappeared into the woods. An awesome, healthy full coat...

They have also been spotted recently in the Highbridge area near the RR tracks and even decimated a flock of backyard chickens over there several years ago.

they are beautiful...theres one living here in woodlawn thats bold as brass....the wife called me out one night a few months back to see the "funny"looking cat near the road... now hes just a regular sight

Fisher are one of the few animals who kill and eat porcupines.  They circle the porcupine until the find an
opportunity to grab them by the face, then usually manage to kill them without getting stuck with any quills.

When you find the 'remains', all you will find is the inside out hide and a few of the larger bones.  The Fisher
will eat everything else.

I'd like it more if they ate all the skunks, it seems like a banner couple of years for the striped stinkers around my place.
