(by Steven Ertelt | Albany, NY | LifeNews.com | 5/20/14 6:28 PM)

It’s back! The so-called Women’s Equality Act, which allows late-term abortions in New York for virtually any reason, has returned.

A group of pro-abortion Democratic State Senators  [Including the NYC special interest group bought and paid for Cecilia Tkaczyk] continued to push today for abortion-expansion, despite polls showing the overwhelming majority of New Yorkers oppose their dangerous agenda. And the bill has grisly consequences.

“How many times do New Yorkers have to reject this radical agenda that would legalize abortion for any reason through all nine months?” asked Lori Kehoe, New York State Right to Life executive director. “New York is already the abortion capital of the United States, with practically no oversight of the industry, but they would rather protect the abortion business than New York women. It’s wrong.”

Throughout the second trimester, late abortions can be completed by dismembering the developed unborn child, even when they can feel pain, pulling the baby out piece by piece until the mother’s uterus is empty. After the abortion, the abortionist must reassemble the child’s body to ensure nothing has been left inside the child’s mother.

In abortions that take place later in pregnancy, which would be legalized in New York by the abortion-expanding Women’s Equality Act, often babies are killed by sliding a needle filled with a chemical agent, such as digoxin, into the beating heart, before being delivered.

New York State Right to Life commented on reintroduction of the so-called “Women’s Equality Act” and pointed to another problem.

The 10th point of the Women’s Equality Act, pushed for by Governor Cuomo, would change New York law to open the doors for non-doctors to perform abortions, and to allow abortions in the third trimester for any reason. Current law already allows abortion at any point that a woman’s life is in danger, but the 10th point would change that to include any “health” reason as well. The key distinction is that “health” was defined in the 1973 court case Doe v. Bolton, providing a definition so broad that it far overreaches physical, or even mental, well-being.

A poll conducted by McLaughlin and Associates last year found that 79.5% of New Yorkers oppose allowing unlimited abortion right through the ninth month of pregnancy.

“It is still surprising to me that some Senators so militantly support abortion on demand that basic human rights, safety for mothers and even widespread public opinion months before an election is completely off their radar.”  They hide behind ‘health’ pretending their dangerous agenda is seeking to help women,” added Kehoe. “But the truth is that passage of the 10th point of the Women’s Equality Act only serves the violent abortion industry. We urge the New York State Senate to listen to the voters, and to common sense, and oppose this radical expansion of abortion.”

Another reason to defeat Tkaczyk:

YOU PAID FOR IT: Senator Tkaczyk sent out campaign-style mailers on your dime - just a year after she criticized this very practice!

The ALLEGED Catholic who CHEERS for the poor in Schenectady paying the taxes of the millionaires and billionaires downtown must be getting ordered by his supervisor to use the workday to post the Catholic church's view (oh, maybe he only has a wee little part time job).....does the Catholic church teach that the poor pay must the taxes of the rich as in Schenectady?

There's no place for religious intolerance in this world.

Or is it only fair to bash Catholics and not Muslims?

We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.   Funny how that works.

The State Senate is prepared to pass 9 of the 10 points in the Women's Equality Act.  The Governor and extremist State Senators like Tkaczyk won't allow those 9 points to become law because State Senators with principles will NOT accept the 10th - pro-late term abortion - point.  It is obvious that the Women's Equality Act was poorly named (just like New York's "Safe Act") because it has little to do with equality for women but EVERYTHING to do with pushing an EXTREMIST PRO-ABORTION agenda.

Tkacyzk must be defeated on Election Day.

It is not anyone's business who chooses to not reproduce.

Using the force of law to prevent self determination is your twisted view.

Self-determination theory (SDT) is a macro theory of human motivation and personality, concerning people's inherent growth tendencies and their innate psychological needs. It is concerned with the motivation behind the choices that people make without any external influence and interference. SDT focuses on the degree to which an individual’s behavior is self-motivated and self-determined.

You are preaching that the government should be minding other people's business for them.

Based on your own personal beliefs.

Just like your lord Obama does to the rest of the world.

You are proof that so-called Libertarians are HYPOCRITES.  Late-term abortion is the brutal killing of a human life  (beating heart, functioning brain and nervous syste, etc.)  and you would deny the RIGHT for that human life to be protected from a brutal, torturous procedure that would end its life.  Many folks who are pro-choice in the early stages of a pregnancy are absolutely opposed to late-term abortion.   But not you, not Tkaczyk, not Tonko, not Cuomo, not NARAL --- how heartless and callous can you folks be?   Your political careers and personal wants are seemingly more important that at the very least protecting the lives of humans at the late stages of pregnancies.  You folks are advocates for nothing less than child abuse in its very worse form.

BTW -- your last statement is both hilarious and absolutely wrong -- I never supported Obama -- never voted for Obama -- have criticized Obama on many issues and many occasions.

Libertarians don't dictate by using the force of law, personal choices to people.

Pro-life is, and must be, a personal choice, not a law.

That makes you just another Obama wannabee socialist.

You demand government intervention to save lives while supporting slaughter of the innocent by the military.

Please get your views synced up.

Pro-lifers don't pick and choose who's life gets saved.

Is that something Jesus taught, that I missed?

You pick the cause to support that is a black mark on the soul of individuals that perform and request the abortion.

You can't force people to be saved through legislation.

War on the other hand is knowingly killing the innocent systematically.

Your blackened soul supports taking lives out of fear.

More Jesus version 2.0 teachings?

I am not saying that you should ever stop fighting to end each and every abortion.

I am saying that you should not be trying to legislate moral values by the use of force of the law.

Preventing abortions is a noble cause, and should be pursued by personal endeavors, through the church or whatever.

Demanding government force upon people who have different beliefs is Obama-ism.

Do you want to save souls and prevent abortions?

Go for it.

Do you want to use the tools of the killers in charge, to inflict your religious views on every other person on Earth?

You are way off base expecting to get someone to use the force of the law, to legislate religious/moral values.

Just like lord Obama does to the world.

Did anyone attend the debate between Amedore and Tkaczyk that took place yesterday?   If so, was there anything noteworthy that was discussed?  Is the debate available for viewing on public TV?

Heard parts of it on talk1300 this a.m.
I guess Tkaczyk said that basically amedore was handed his home building business. She was booooo-ed big time.
Amedore was not in favor of the safe act and didn't like the process on how it was voted on....Tkaczyk didn't support the 'entire' law...said she would change a few things.

that's all I heard this a.m.

George Amedore is going to win big time. DVOR is right but there are other issues. The two years the DEMS controlled the State Senate were a total disaster for taxpayers. It''s not a war on women it's a DEM
war on the middle class. The debate was a joke with the incumbent trying dodge her tax everything that moves positions. Two no brainers Jeff Vroman for New Assemblyman and George Amedore for New State
Senator.

That was a particularly "cheap shot" coming from Tkaczyk.

First, no one "handed" George or any of his family anything.  They - like all successful independent business owners - worked very to get where they are.  Furthermore, the Amedores are very generous in giving back to the community.  They are good decent people from our town and still very much "in sync" with the concerns and needs of their neighbors.

Second, I won't mention that Mrs. Tkaczyk, who nobody had ever heard of before, was "handed" the nomination by Paul Tonko and his extremist liberal buddies from NYC and a boat load of $$$ from NYC special interest groups.  I won't even bring those two things up.

It was a great day for Schenectady ... and a great day for  Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, Congressmen Tonko, Hannah, and Gibson ...
Don't worry that the president did not stop and eat in Schenectady today, he has been invited to come eat at the next Polish Harvest Festival at the Polish Community Center ….     That way he will get to eat some
awesomely good food.
