Stabbings, other injuries follow Schenectady melee

Published 12:10 am, Wednesday, September 10, 2014

SCHENECTADY — A man and woman were stabbed during a large fight in the 1700 block of Carrie Street Tuesday night, Schenectady police said.

At about 7:45 p.m., officers responded to the area after getting several calls about a large group fighting. A woman was found near the 600 block of Lang Street with a stab wound in the back, police said.

She was treated on the scene by Schenectady firefighters and taken to Albany Medical Center and was in critical condition later Tuesday.

A second stab victim from the same incident was taken by a third party to Ellis Hospital on Nott Street, suffering from a single stab wound to the chest. The man was in stable condition, police said.

Two other women were injured in the fight and treated on the scene firefighters, then taken to Ellis Hospital on Nott Street.

One of the women sustained an injury from being struck by a blunt object; the other woman's injuries came from the melee. Their injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Detectives were interviewing several people about the fracas late Tuesday, both witnesses and possible suspects.

Northside, Mt Pleasant, Bellevue, Eastern Ave, HH, Downtown nowhere to hide. City in freefall but the friends and family club making bank.
Maybe another curb program will turn it around.

That's right.   The homeowners/taxpayers in the neighborhoods don't even exist in the minds of the dem leadership.   But the city lavishes tax dollars on their political crony millionaires and billionaires.   And the city NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER explicitly states to the taxpayers how much the taxpayers are paying for the property taxes of downtown.   The taxpayers have a birthright entitlement to know the incomes of all these downtown property owners, their full worth, and to be told in simple plain language "taxpayers, X property downtown is assessed at $X, based on the tax rates the total tax bill for that property is [hypothetically] $500,000, the owner pays a PILOT of $75,000, so you homeowners, whose income is $40,000 are paying $425,000 of the tax bill for the billionaire Galesi, etc"
