Seven Killed, 29 Wounded In City Shootings Over Weekend
August 18, 2014 6:10 AM

(Credit: Steve Hardy/CBS Local)

CHICAGO — Seven people have been killed and at least 29 others wounded in shootings across the city since Friday evening, police said.

Two people were killed and another wounded in what police said was a “domestic-related” shooting in Roseland late Sunday.

The shooting occurred about 9:55 p.m. in the 400 block of West 104th Street, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said, citing preliminary information.    http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/08/18/seven-killed-28-wounded-in-city-shootings-over-weekend/

Two people were dead at the scene, said Greer, who added that the shooting is believed to be “domestic-related.”

A man was shot and killed early Sunday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Police found 26-year-old Kardeon Glover, of the 4100 block of West Grenshaw, with a gunshot wound to the head on the sidewalk in the 900 block of North Karlov about 1:15 a.m., authorities said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A police source said the man had gang affiliations.

Two people were killed and a third was wounded in a shooting Saturday night in Logan Square.

I really don't understand the fascination with "Chicago" shootings.  Is there something special about
shootings in "Chicago" compared to other cities???

When adjusted by population, murder rates are far higher in smaller cities than in larger ones,
such as Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

It's very easy Boxy....Well, not so easy for you but for everyone else it is.

CHICAGO — Not a single gun shop can be found in this city because they are outlawed. Handguns were banned in Chicago for decades, too, until 2010, when the United States Supreme Court ruled that was going too far, leading city leaders to settle for restrictions some describe as the closest they could get legally to a ban without a ban. Despite a continuing legal fight, Illinois remains the only state in the nation with no provision to let private citizens carry guns in public.
And yet Chicago, a city with no civilian gun ranges and bans on both assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, finds itself laboring to stem a flood of gun violence that contributed to more than 500 homicides last year and at least 40 killings already in 2013, including a fatal shooting of a 15-year-old girl on Tuesday

That's why.

I have no idea WTF senders just said, but I do have to amend my response to Boxy.

The change being that Illinois became the last state to give provisions for citizens to carry guns in public.

basically it was a compliment to you....you picked the sh!t off the window to expose the truth of the politicians lies about
'safe-acts' and 'gun control for safety' legislation...

PEOPLE WILL STILL GET GUNS,,, CRIMINALS DON'T FOLLOW THE LAW or one is made a criminal because of the law......

just because it's illegal doesn't make it wrong
just because it's legal doesn't make it right

that's why in America pure fear blanket laws are an affront to what America stands for......

Again, as I've posted half a dozen times before... Where do the guns come from that are used in
Chicago's murders???

Once again...
"Gun Pipeline from Mississippi to Chicago Supplied Firearm
that Killed Chicago Cop"

(FoxSnooze)
GunHugger Gun Runners from the south flood Chicago's gangs with guns.  It's that simple.
Quoted Text
"Combating the flow of illegal firearms into this city is a never ending battle for law
enforcement.
One focus is on gun running: a crime which takes advantage of lax gun laws in other states,
and results in hundreds of weapons flooding our streets."

Good FEDERAL GUN LAWS could end or at least reduce the number of guns in Chicago... but
the GUN LOBBY (NRA) make millions on the murders in Chicago... and will fight to keep the
supply no guns into that city!

Quoted Text
The Feds said Mississippi's gun laws make it easy for criminals to acquire weapons
through straw purchasers - people who knowingly buy guns for someone else and then lie
on the purchase paperwork, claiming they are buying it for themselves.

Chicago ATF Special Agent in Charge Andrew Traver explained how it often works.

“Say they recruit five straws, so those five straws will each individually go into a dealer
and each buy a gun,” Traver said. “Then they'll all go to another dealer and buy a gun and
that way they amass a quantity of guns and part of the reason they do this is they
circumvent the multiple sales reporting requirement.”

Chicago police recover, on average, about 10,000 guns a year. There are no numbers on how
many are actually from gun trafficking, but the Mississippi to Chicago pipeline is driven by
the lure of easy money.

“You can get, say a rifle like this for under $500,” Ferguson said. “That particular firearm
can then be turned around and sold on the streets for anywhere from $1,000-$1,500.”

There is a federal law box.  It's called FOPA.  The guns have to be legal to possess in the state of origin and in the state if destination.

That's not good enough?

Good federal gun laws didn't keep Obama and Holder from illegally selling weapons to drug dealers and other bad apples south of the border.  MMMM -- where is the DoJ investigation into Obama's and Holder's role in this?  Where is DoJ investigation into the death of that office at the barrel of one of those illegally sold weapons?
Why weren't Obama and Holder indicted for their role in the murder of that officer and for denying that officer's Civil Rights?

Meanwhile, Chicago is burning down while  Ram Emmanuel plays the fiddle and sits in the Chicago baths waiting for his געליבטער Obama to join him in the steam room.

No, that wasn't your question at all.

Your question was:

I responded to that. Not 'where do they come from?'. That, in itself, is an entirely different issue.

No.  No mistake.  We have good federal laws -already on the books - to deal with illegal gun sales.  They should be enforced.  Obama and Holder should be indicted, convicted and sent to prison for violating those laws.

Oh sure it's just fine!!!  From your FOPA:
Read on:
18 U.S. Code § 926A - Interstate transportation of firearms
Notwithstanding any other provision of any law or any rule or regulation of a State or
any political subdivision thereof, any person who is not otherwise prohibited by this
chapter from transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm shall be entitled to transport
a firearm for any lawful purpose from any place where he may lawfully possess
and carry such firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and carry
such firearm
if, during such transportation the firearm is unloaded, and neither the
firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible
from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle...

The Key Words here being "FOR ANY LAWFUL PURPOSE"
Illegal Straw Purchases in Mississippi to sell ILLEGALLY in Chicago, is not a LAWFUL PURPOSE
is it Cissy???

here is the language used against you in legislation/litigation.....it's like voluntary compulsory INCOME TAX....

lawful purpose....that's a funny....
otherwise prohibited....that's funny too....

put them together.....WE ARE A LAND OF LAWS THE DECIDES YOUR PURPOSE AND THEN PROHIBITS

Good FEDERAL GUN LAWS could end or at least reduce the number of guns in Chicago... but
...

Gun laws will only reduce good law abiding gun owners guns.

Even if all guns are banned, they will still flow freely from coast to coast.

You realize banning something never works.

The drug war created the gun toting gangs.

Good gun laws will unleash more gun violence than ever witnessed before in the course of history.
