Police Say They Won’t Release Name of Officer Who Shot, Killed Michael Brown
FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOX) - Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson tells KMOX that the name of the officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown won’t be released for the foreseeable future, at least until he’s either compelled to by a judge or if there are charges filed against the police officer.
Jackson says this is due to death threats called into the police department and posted on social media.
Jackson also says there are social media rumors swirling with a name of Ferguson police officer, but this is not the name of the officer involved.
Some commentators on online news stories are posting photos claiming that they are the children of the Ferguson police officer, and Jackson says they are not.
The animals are tearing up their own neighborhoods, people and businesses that had nothing to do with the teens death are being destroyed.

And the police won't name the cop that did it. The rioting might stop, if the community knew the individual responsible. The police would rather see the city burn and risk everyone's life, than point out one of their own that's responsible.

Oh I agree somewhat, I doubt the people rioting and looting give one sh1t about the teen who was killed, they just seen it as a free pass to steal. But you are right that the cops will let it burn, the looters and rioters are their best weapon to distract the publics attention from the shooting, the more the people riot the less sympathy their cause gets in the end.

Just noticed while driving in ROTTENdam that cops drive around in unmaked white Ford SUV's now? Only thing that identifies them is their license plate. Saw one pull over someone for something. Out of the blue came this white ford suv with lighs flashing from inside the front grill!!! WTH???

This is from a speech given a number of years ago. Its words still apply today. Let's hope that we can find a person to elect in 2016 who can actually LEAD this nation - instead of dividing it like our current president has done :

The Mayor and police department deny the person named even works in the city.
Anonymous is scheduled to release a photo of the cop at 10pm.

Missouri state troopers are taking over security in the town of Ferguson, Missouri, which has been roiled by clashes and tough police response since the shooting of an unarmed teenager last week.
"Immediate security will be directed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol," Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said today.
He added that the name of the officer accused of fatally shooting Michael Brown, 18, should be released and that local officials have the "methods and abilities to do that." Ferguson's police chief has withheld the name, citing threats to his safety.
"I would hope that the appropriate release of that name, with the security around it if necessary ... be done as expeditiously as possible," Nixon said.
The governor said the streets of Ferguson, a suburb of St. Louis, have "looked like a war zone and that's not acceptable. ... Literally, the eyes of the nation are upon us."
Clashes between protesters and police continued for a fifth night Wednesday, with reports of Molotov cocktails, tear gas and rubber bullets being used.

The police in Florida were not concerned about George Zimmerman being publicly flogged, and the death threats he received. No double standard though. Police don't have special rights at all.
