We live up on the hill above the lake, we used to take our sons every year. It became too crazy in later years, we only went to sit on the hill to watch the
fireworks which were always good.

or the large number of police could give the impresion to outsiders that there is a crime problem so they don't come.  Can you name an incident where there was a major crime at one of these events in the park outside the basketball courts?

None. Mayor Stratton was appalled that someone brought a snake to Tuesday at the Park. Together with overtime he plugged the plug. It was a great community
day that should be revived with a new Mayor.

TiB  - Contrarion foolishness. It's a large crowd, it's standard procedure to have a large contingent of police to control large crowds.

benny - didn't it stop under Jurczynski?

The unsupervised kids were a problem at times.  Unfortunately, a small contingent of them got sent up there with no supervision and no money.

Visitor, no it was Stratton that ended it. Marv Cermak mentioned it in one of his columns.

From Oct. 2012.

Gee, did Stratton prefer to stop the spending of tax money on an event for the taxpayers in the taxpayers park in order to spend the taxpayers' money on his millionaire cronies?

Before Stratton tax money spent on Tuesday in the Park for the people.

Beginning with Stratton TITP is stopped and tax money starts getting handed out to billionaire Galesi, Forbes billionaire Paul Mitchell Co, etc.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
