Atlantic city was a casino destination, nothing more.. With casinos pretty much everywhere now, epicenters are no longer needed. They'll probably lose one or maybe two more, then stabilize. One casino in the Albany Metro area will be fine. Since the crime is already there, let Schenectady get it... we don't want to make the criminals and hoes re-locate.

Casinos are being built all over the country. ( nowhere near atlantic city)  many state have recently legalized gam ling ( gaming is the term used in the legislative circles ).

I have worked on the construction of  a dozen casinos in the last  10 years. Mainly Penn National Gaming. In the last 2 years alone. Kansas City at the Nascar track, columbus ohio, toledo ohio, dayton ohio, youngstown ohio ( get the picture ), st louis, charlestown wv,, tunicams, even hobbs new mexico. Motor city casino in detroit. Too many to mention.

There is a lot of money flying around. Dont listen to salami

I have no need or desire for a local casino.

I don't believe the government should be running a government protected corporate gambling mafia.

Gambling should be legal for people, not just wealthy corporations who get government protection from competition.

Lol.

That's legal already.

You just can't serve alcohol if they are bottomless.

I would much rather see all the empty stores in the city being used as places to hold some
Texas Hold'em or other card games, instead of a corporate empire that will take the money
out of local hands.

Or let the corner store have some slots.

Schenectady could balance their books with a 1% gambling tax.

Plus, then all the gambling that goes on now could go on the books and pay taxes, instead of paying off politicians.

Schenectady already has the gambling, it's just sort of, out of plain sight.

Well of course.

What good would it serve for sombody to make some money instead of making cops and politicians live like the Soviet Politboro.

A bureaucratic quagmire and immense system of corruption.

I think its very naive to try and apply your libertarian philosphy to a  business that pays bzillion dollars in tax- ON TIME. . or its shut down.
Havng worked inDetorit for over a year- those 3 casinos pay about 50 million a year in tax EACH.
I think NY casinos pay  almost a billion  dollars a year in tax
Many if not most casinos are being built  in the bad part of town- usually on the spot where there used to be a business- like Elgin Ill. The site of the Elgin watch factoory. Columbus Ohio - the site of the old Delphi automotive plant.

casinos are entertainment. Not my kind of entertainment though.  I think of them as sort of donut shops. Not very good for you but they tast good..

I have followed casino projects all over the country for almost 20 years. - the barges in Missippi  are now a town called Tunica Resorts. The dirt road people took to go fishing is now lined with casinos. Tunica once the poorest county in america . Its still very poor though because its hard to get kid to go to those nice brand new schools.

Wh3n I go to Vegas- its to pick up a  check. I have a life/hobbies   rc ' drones ' as u and sisero  callem, boomerangs, hang glidding,. I dont have cable tv ( senders are u off the grid yet ? )
Like I said casinos are like donut shops. You like donuts ? No ?  Yes ? I love good donuts. I eat one or 2 a week maybe. Some people eat 2  every day.. haroin addits love donuts too.

My cousin lives in Saratoga - walking distance from the track. God bless him- he loves those horses.

like I said casinos pay billions 8f dollars in taxs . Maybe u wanna have a casino in your garage. Where there is money changing  hands I think u need some security- look theres 2 jobs rite there.
