Unlike many on this board, I pay my taxes and don't complain about them.  I pay what is required
of me and I'm glad that a portion of my taxes is going to help those less fortunate than myself.

I wonder if Henry or Cicero take their STAR exemption???
Or...
Is the STAR exemption one of their... "DO as I Say, Not as I Do" issues.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

I do all I can to limit the amount I am robbed annually.

The holy gods of democracy didn't give me their blessing like they did you.  They didn't allow me to keep the same percentage of my money as they did you.  I need to pray harder at the voting booth.

I DON'T do all I can to limit the amount of taxes I pay annually.
Cissy, like major corporations, want the rest of us to pay his tax bill so he goes to extremes
to push the burden on to the honest tax payers.
With every post, Cicero whines about paying for the services that he uses every day.
He wants to pay nothing, while the rest of us pay his way.
How could we describe that behavior??? Since Cissy has a problem with word definitions lately,
I looked up the meaning before posting it:
selfish
adjective
1.devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one's own interests,
benefits, welfare, etc., regardless of others

Yup!  That's him!

Not true - I don't want you to get robbed either.  But since you are all for it, I'm surprised you take extra exemptions.

Coming from the guy who supported billions in bank bailouts, auto bailouts, and stimulus spending that went to corporations, and a half a trillion dollars annually in military spending.  Tell me about that welfare again.

I take no 'extra' exemptions.  Only those that I qualify for and are legal.  Do you consider STAR
exemptions to be "extra exemptions"?  I don't.  Nor exemptions for the disabled or the elderly or
exemptions veterans.

I don't consider paying taxes for community services "being robbed".  I consider it paying for services,
such as garbage pickup, street paving, help for the poor, etc.

You however take the view that it's robbery!  (Which brings us back to "selfish")

Tell me about the reason for the above... WHO broke the economy???
HINT
G Worst Bush and the Conservatives.
WHO fixed G Worst Bush's mess???
President Barack Hussein Obama, and he did it against the wishes of the Republican Congress.

Is it applied equally?  Is everybody eligible for enhanced STAR?  Do all people get the exemption?

Enhanced STAR - Because it isn't moral to steal as much from anybody over 65.  That's the Christian thing to do.

Equal treatment under the law,

bypassed by localities that change it to preferential treatment under the law,

= Constitutional traitors.

Selfish?  I'm not politely asked to voluntarily contribute 30%+ of the money I earn.  I am told that if I don't, I go to jail.  Hmmmm...and I'm the selfish one?

Really?  Why do you doubt that?  I think my estimation is low.  You figure in sales taxes, property taxes, school tax, income taxes, gasoline taxes, taxes on home gas and electric, cell phone/land line phone taxes, hotel taxes, water tax, etc...

My income isn't going up as fast as inflation and property and school taxes.  Sales tax is regressive, it has a pretty big impact.

30% is probably pretty accurate for homeowners.

Personally I would be in favor of a 25% flat sales tax on every dollar spent.

No business exemptions.

No religious exemptions.

Just equal treatment under the law.

Gas tax alone in NY is $.68 per gallon.

Do you "Politely" pay for services you use?  Do you pay for services that are available but
you choose not to use?
Or do you use the services and then expect the rest of us to pay your share?
