Bank of America is closing in October 2014.......mainly because of online accts......YET....there are 3 Trustco Banks in this Town.

what is the reasoning to have 3 of 1 and only 1 of another???????????????

What else is closing and where is the business that flourishes in this town.....besides...pizza joint, beer parlors, and banks......

The FACT is.....the more banks in a community means the folks have A LOT of $$$$.

The old timers socked most of their money away.

Well the old timers are dying off and their off spring are taking the $$$ and spending spending spending.

The up and coming generation is not saving like the last generation.

So expect more banks to close.

And actually......there are many folks we know that NEVER go into a brick and mortar bank building.

They have direct deposit and use their debit/credit card to withdraw and pay their bills on line.

It's a new frontier!

There is no reason to save money in a bank.  You get nearly 0% interest.  Prior generations at least received a few percent interest in a savings account.

saving money in a bank is like voluntary participation in the income tax system.....and now,,,,the national health insurance system..

after the last storm 2 of ugly plastic signs that pop up everywhere in town were knocked over

one sign was for the "festa"
and another that says

"five corners looks like poop"

today

the festa sign was attached to a telephone pole 6 feet in the air

and the poop sign has been returned to standing

so we have a public sign proclaiming 5 corners looks like Sh!T and the best Tony Jasenski(aka TJ Hooker) can come up with is metroplex money to benefit a single Rotterdam business who will rent from a new building as they are transplanting down the street

if he and Angelo Santabarbara  truly cared about the people he represents and get grants that help the entire community
