Yesterday was one of those house tours and I was thinking about the video "press conference" (video op for the mayor and his cronies).  I went to a site where I found it, watched pieces of it, then Mary Mary is bragging that during the month of May the pending sales in the city were up by 13% and said that is so good for the city.  And I started thinking we'll have to wait and see in the coming months to see what this increase in "pending" actually translates to in "closed" sales.

Then when I closed the video I noticed it said June 2013.  Oh my.  My mistake.  I had watched a video from last year.  LOL.  However, Mary's bragging about this "wonderful" increase in pending sales of 13%.  What that actually translated to.  Think, from offer til closing it takes typically two months, well three months at the very most.  The "pending" sales  in May 2013 that she bragged about that were "up 13%" actually translated to the following ACTUAL numbers IN the city:  closed sales for May 2013 were down by 28%; closed sales for June were down by 52% (WOW); ok July was "up" by 7% but that increase of sales of an additional "whopping" two houses, yes, just two, i.e., 2 (but the YTD thru July 2013 showed a reduction of almost 5%), and then August was 0% (no increase, no decrease).

I must remember this is 2014.  But it was indeed nice to realize that Mary's bragging resulted in her making a fool of herself.  She brags about "pending" sales, but never states "closed" sales.   Sadly  the people of the city are too stupid to understand the difference---but that speaks of the people that are left in the city and why they keep voting in these fools, the people that are left IN the city don't have the intelligence to do independent research to actually try to verify all these claims the city leaders make, they don't look intelligence to find real evidence.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
