One board member constantly criticizes Senator Farley.   Might we start reading more criticisms?

SEN. FARLEY REPORTS SENATE PASSES PACKAGE OF BILLS TO FIGHT THE FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS

Posted by Hugh T. Farley on Monday, June 16th, 2014

Related issues: Seniors

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) reports that he and his colleagues in the New York State Senate recently passed a package of eight bills to prevent criminals from using financial schemes to prey upon senior citizens. The measures were recommended in a report released by the Senate Majority Coalition in May that examined this growing issue that affects thousands of senior New Yorkers each year.

The type of elder abuse relating to financial exploitation involves the illegal taking, misuse, or concealment of funds, property, or assets of a senior for someone else's benefit. It can result in the significant monetary loss for the victim, and in some cases, a person’s entire life savings. Financial exploitation can range from the theft of cash, to much more elaborate schemes.

Unfortunately, these incidents often times go unreported due to the startling fact that the abuser is someone that the victim either trusts, is a caregiver, or more often than not, is a family relative. Moreover, the rate of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias that undermine judgment increases with age, thus leaving seniors more vulnerable.

The bills help prevent deceptive financial transactions from taking place, update the collection of data methods to track abuse statewide, and amend existing law to stiffen penalties to deter criminal acts from occurring in the first place.

that's pretty vague....considering the fact that if the elder has a significant (subjective here) savings/assets,,,,,,

the FU(KING GOVERNMENT CAN TAKE ALL THEY WANT BASED ON LEGISLATION CHANGES.....

WHO'S THE CRIMINAL HERE?????

A$$HOLES.......

P.S. elder abuse is not a good thing, but the changing of the definition doesn't hide the criminals in plain sight.......

Very good point.

But here's another thought.  The dem leaders in the city are MOST DEFINITELY exploiting the elderly !!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing beneficial Hugh Farley can do for our community and state is to retire.  Even then, he will be cashing in on his multiple state tax dollar funded pensions.   I wonder if he ever did repay the state taxpayers for his vacations to Disney World and Hawaii -- 2 trips that cost us $80,000 altogether.
Most people are lucky to take an $800 vacation that they save up all year and pay for themselves.

Most people are lucky to take an $800 vacation that they save up all year and pay for themselves.

And I'm sure you can provide some source information for these vacations, like form the comptroller's office itself.   But the issue can be, too, that sometimes conferences are held in assorted places.  Like you are going to say that your buddy Gary NEVER traveled to a conference to some nice place on taxpayers dollars, right?   That's right, don't respond.

True, many people -- who live in the city of Schenectady, are lucky if they have $800 for a vacation.   Thanks to the dem leadership in the city most people can't afford $80 to go to an amusement park for their family, nor spend a few days at a state campground.

Now you claim Farley used $80,000 of taxpayer dollar for a vacation.   Would you care to tell us how much in taxpayer dollars King Phillip at Proctors get's paid by the taxpayers.  Since it is a known FACT, DIRECT from viewing the county budget itself, that the county has TWO line items in the budget that together tally roughly the equivalent of Morris' salary which is a quarter of a million dollars per year then do the math DV,  Do you have a brain to do the math?   Every four years P Morris gets a WHOPPING ONE MILLION DOLLARS  in salary PAID FOR FROM TAXPAYERS' MONEY! Comes from the pockets of the financially struggling homeowners in the county.

Then DV would you care to address the FACT that Morris mandates volunteers to pay for volunteering at Proctors?   No, you won't talk about that, it's mo0re money for HIS pockets.

And how about addressing the FACT that Morris LIED on his STAR application?

And speaking of taxpayers paying for stuff, how about Buicko, the local Galesi leader, benefiting with a HUGE salary much of it courtesy of the taxpayers in Shenectady, and the taxpayer dollars pay for a lavish house for him that is not even in Schenectady.

How about the police chief in Schenectady getting paid over $100,000 a year PLUS benefits and future pension (in ONE YEAR'S time that is far more money than this so called vacation), and your dem buddy Gary takes from the taxpayers and pays the police chief but does NOT mandate that the police chief pay the same high taxes that the city homeowners pay.

Ditto the fire chief.   Ditto Carl Olsen.   Ditto that signal guy.  Off hand, not sure how many others.

Tell us DV, how many city employees are paid more than $100,000 per year from the pockets of the taxpayers and then the employees don't even pay taxes in the city.

And tell us DV, WHY tell us WHY your buddy McTHUG allows department heads to be off the hook for paying the same high taxes that homeowners pay and he lets them off the hook by not making them live among the blight and crime that the taxpayers experience.   Oh yeah, and why should the financially struggling homeowners in the city have no choice but to send their children to inferior schools while they have to fork over big bucks so the city department heads can move out of the city and send their children to good school districts?

You won't answer these questions will you.   Too much of a chicken.

Well?

Ah, so you would prefer that Farley retire instead of getting this very very good legislation passed, huh?    Afraid of something?   Guilty of something?   Worried about the future when nannies are older?

Still waiting for your documentation from official sources about this vacation stuff.  Until you provide proof, it's a lie.   I really do not know one way or another if it's true.  But if it's true, then you should be able to provide evidence.

No evidence means it's just your whining from being a poor loser when your savage girlfriend lost and you couldn't get a high paid no-show job

Over two weeks since I requested he provide evidence of his claim.    NOT A TEENY WERNY SHRED OF EVIDENCE.   NOT A PEEP OUT OF DV

He just runs away and hides when he can't support what he says.

Senator Farley is assured of re-election this year running against City Jerk dog census lover Ms. Thorne. Some DEM machine if this is the best opponent for State Senator they can scrape up.
Prediction: Senator Farley is re-elected by the largest margin ever. Even bigger than McCheese a few years back.

Does anyone know her qualifications/experience for the position?   I think she may be just running this and the past time for exposure.   For even if she loses she gets name recognition.   For when she runs at the time when Farley does retire, she will have the jump on the competition due to this exposure.

One good thing about living in Rotterdam is that we are no longer in Farley's district.  Of course, we still have to correct the wrong that was committed 2 years ago -- and put George Amedore in the State Senate.  This we WILL do in 2014.
Now - if only we could just redraw the Congressional District lines so that we were represented by a Chris Gibson.
