Couldn't resist making this a separate post.

Carl Erickson speaking during the vote time for the casino, says he's not a gambler, rather not interested, though he seemed to say he might go to it if built, but then stated his "wallet does not allow for it."

ROFL   Why not?   Because the city is becoming a ghost town in the neighborhoods (overwhelming evidence has already been produced), and no one will buy his house!!!!   Will be curious if it takes 3 years for him to find a renter for his house after 3 years of no one wanting to buy.

Or wonder how long til he merely walks away from the house. Let's watch for the day when he announces he is not running for re-election

It was a sad display watching the council try to suck up to both sides of the argument, you could almost see them counting the signs in the audience to figure out which way to vote so not to hurt their re-election chances.

NAH, they didn't count signs.  I think the very day Galesi company came to them, they were immediately calculating what they might get in political contributions and whatever secret kickbacks.

So they stood there and spoke about understanding both sides of the issue, but clearly from moment one, they knew they were voting a resounding yes.

But how they can refer to $5.7 tax revenue is beyond me when Galesi owns the property and they gave him a 100% tax exemption and no end date
