Quoted from Henry

He might of been a scumbag but even scumbags are supposed to get constitutional protections, those protections were bypassed by some secret panel, that's not the America I want to be apart of.

Watch out!  Defending the rights of due process for all Americans makes you a "terrorist" sympathizer.  Al Awlaki is your BFFL now.  If you don't support presidential kill lists, you are unAmerican.

The difference between Bush and Obama is that Bush made no illusions - he would do ANYTHING to protect our country.  Obama is a pathetic liar who says he is all about protecting our rights and keeping us out of war - all the while he is trampling on our rights and letting our military be weakened and our national security interests be put at risk all over the globe.  Bottom line - Obama, Biden, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry (and the whole Obama team) are clueless and ineffective.  It will take years to clean up the mess that they have created.

Bush invaded IRAQ as retaliation for what he claimed was an attempted plot to kill his father...well documented and publicly stated.
It had nothing to do with 9/11...well documented and publicly known. He was planning this months before 9/11 happened, and he used 9/11
as an excuse to invade Iraq and go after Saddam, taking his eye of the ball, making up WMD excuses and not going after the 9/11
terrorists.

So explain DVOR, how does that qualify as "...Bush made no illusions - he would do ANYTHING to protect our country."
What country was he protecting?  He sent our military into Iraq as invaders, and US lives were lost because
your beloved Bush had a private agenda and abused his position as POTUS. I find this more horrendous than anything
any president has done before him or since.

Can't wait to hear how you defend this!!!!

Bush's Director of Intelligence reported Saddam had WMD's and it was a threat to us and allies in the region.  You forgot?  The same intelligence agency that said a US citizen needed to be executed because he was an imminent threat to national security.  How do you separate the two?  Is it because of party affiliation?

I don't regret that we took the War On Terror into Iraq and deposed the brutal dictator - Saddam Hussein. I see that some folks who post here still believe that dictators like Hussein and Hitler were heroes and that we had no business removing them from power.  These same folks think that Obama and Hillary should be lauded for letting an American ambassador and 3 other Americans be tortured and assassinated by terrorists in Libya.
The only thing worse than the Obama presidency would be a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Oh, so you would have sent your own children into Fallujah to die?  Was it that important to you?  Or was it worth while as long as you weren't risking your life or your children's?

That's what I love about Memorial Day, people honoring those that died in a war for which they were never compelled to pick up a gun and join the fight.

It honestly disgusts me to listen to chicken hawks.

As usual you missed the bulk of what was said and went off onto your agenda....
trying reading about this in documents and then come back. WMD was "after" he
already made the decision and was putting plans into place.

I didn't miss it.  I just find it amazing that you don't question how one man can initiate the overthrow of a country and while the other 2 branches that are designed to check that power allow it to happen.  How does one man compel the military to plan the overthrow of a country for a personal vendetta?  It amazes me you of all people believe military commanders would do that.

If the terrorist could have been "detained" he would have been charged.  detaining him was not possible.

really? so that means the mentally challenged kid on the bus with the broken arm happened because 'detaining' him
was not possible?

it's the same principle.....

due process for liberty....having different views is not a crime, having different customs is not a crime, having a
different world view is not a crime, having different skin color is not a crime etc etc etc.....

the military Golem and blind support of it's authority is dangerous

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I find it amazing you don't question how one man can be responsible for the drone killing while the other 2 branches that are designed to check that power allow it to happen.  How does one man compel the military to plan such a strike? It amazes me that you believe one man is powerful enough to do that!

I don't believe that.  The vast majority of Congress are filled with warmonger killers and the federal courts are fill with politically appointed judges picked by these warmongers.  Obama's no different than Bush.  And the military brass are just looking for a reason to deploy.

It disgusts me to hear people like defend a scumbag like Saddam Hussein who killed 10's of thousands of his own people with chemical weapons, raped and murdered hundreds of young women and summarily executed anyone in his country who dared to disagree with him.  I am sure that you would have been cheering on Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin as they carried out their atrocities.

I for one am not, do not, never have supported Saddam. World is better without him.
I am however, still challenging your statement that Bush invaded Iraq to defend our country,
which you seem to ignore because you know it was a false statement.

Lol.  Yeah, the USG Killed 500k Iraqi's with sanctions by restricting medicine for preventable diseases under Clinton, and then killed and displaced tens of thousands more, and poisoned generations of god knows how many with depleted uranium under GWB.  Saddam was cutting in on the USG's monopoly on killing.

Yup, I'm sure Iraqi's hold the same opinion of arrogant Americans that plunged them into all out war.  Who wouldn't be grateful to a foreign government that plunged their nation into war against their will.

American exceptionalism is knowing what's best for ever person on earth.
