And cheerleaders for downtown and dems don't need to be bothered trying to twist this for their benefit.   It's a great accomplishment but watch McC try to brag about it and take credit for the win.

It's NOT going to raise the property values in the city and the win is NOT going to entice people to move to the city. Students will graduate and flee this city.

the sad thing is that any city parties to honor the team will be held downtown instead of in Central Park

SCHENECTADY - Union's first Division One NCAA win also brought out a crowd into the streets of Schenectady.

Schenectady Police say that two officers were hit after beer bottles were thrown on Union Street in the vicinity of the Union college.

There also have been 5 arrests.

Union fans spilled into the streets after the 7 - 4 win against Minnesota Saturday night.

Great accomplishment.

Yes, I already have seen the news that the mayor wants to have a parade for them.  This is one issue that is great to honor a team with such an accomplishment so a parade is great.  The parade however should not be going downtown.  Instead it should leave the rink and return to the rink, not sure where all the exits are on the campus, but the parade should be limited to Union St, Seward, Nott St, Union Ave, and I think it's Lenox Rd.  Around the campus.  After all, this is a parade to recognize the team and the college, it ids NOT a parade to show off the rich property owners tax exempt paradise

The Union tour bus had a (loud)police escort when they arrived home Sunday afternoon.

Lenox Rd was packed with cops and people who gathered to meet them.

True, but the mayor will use the win for political purposes
