They can paint that building as gaudy as they wanna' be but that Guyanese guy who reopened Harvey's On the Boulevard and painted it salmon colored had to be gone after by the city. Interesting.
Of course, the city will allow a rich political crony to paint their building anything they want, and then take from the taxpayer to help pay for re-doing the building, and then exempt them from paying taxes.
And all the so called economic development downtown, what has it done for sales tax revenue? Sales tax revenue is done in Schenectady, NO OTHER county in the capital region has seen a reduction of sales tax revenue.
And what else his this so called economic development done? It caused a reduction in the tax base, caused property values to fall, home sales to fall and taxes on the homeowner to increase.
It has NOT made the city a place where people want to buy a house and live.
And even the biggest (in more ways than one) cheerleader for downtown REFUSES to live IN the city, he won't even rent IN the city. His total REFUSAL to live IN the city proves that he knows the city is not improving and that all his comments are nothing but fairy tale nonsense babble. You almost have to wonder how much tax money is going to pay him to spew the party babble
