As someone already mentioned - horseradish can help clear the sinuses.
I have also found that eating something with mustard - a good brown mustard - has helped relieve my sinus and cold symptoms.  Which seems to make sense since years back people used mustard plasters on the chest to relieve colds.
The suggestion of good fresh air is also a good one.  I think that sometimes when we are sick and stay inside - we end up just breathing the same "germy" air over and over again.  Going outside and getting some fresh air - in moderation and dressed warmly - has given some relief in the past.

This is a particularly bad cold, or whatever it is, going around. Murder on the sinuses. Maybe because, with the extreme cold, it is extra dry indoors?

Quoted from Henry

Feeling a little better, boiled some water with some vapor rub and breathed that in under a towel.

that is all we ever do for sinus issues!! Actually....without the vapor rub.....just moist hot steam. Then the vicks goes on after!

DVOR my grandmother used to do the mustard plaster on my grandfather, that's how it was back in the day, treated at home, cured his pneumonia : )
Also she'd make a concoction with tea, blackberry whiskey and honey to drink.

Yup this cold going around is no fun. Have had mine 5 days now, started with a wicked sore throat and went into ears sinus's and then chest
congestion,
hardly can taste anything, but when I do the taste is off. One trick which really does work for coughing is putting Vicks on the bottom of your feet with
socks at night. Heard this a couple of years ago and thought no way, but it works.
Did make it to the market today and picked up a dozen eggs and the hot horseradish, going to make it tomorrow.

love the "witch" doctors....hope all is well....

If Henry said he had a fever I'd be telling him go to the doctor because that would likely mean an infection.

But absent the fever there are many good suggestions here, I'm sure many that we have gotten from our parents and grandparents.

My grandparents who came here from Poland hardly ever used a doctor, like I said the mustard plaster cured my grandfathers pneumonia and she must
have been doing something right he lived to one month shy of his 100th birthday. : )

A LOT of things can be taken care of at home....the sad thing is that the public has stockholm stupid syndrome....

we have been programmed to believe only medicine helps....artificial chemicals ingested to 'cure'....

we have forgotten how to listen to our bodies.

UGGGG!!!  I think the cure is worse than the ailment!

I'll stick with peppermint oil!

horseradish is like ice cream with a 'different kind' of headache....

it does work as does the peppermint

Starting to taste food finally : )  My brother wanted to take me to Dinoaurs BBQ but told him to wait til my tastebuds are back to normal.

This cold/sinus thing is hitting a lot of people. Just about everyone I talk to either has it or someone in their family does.
