OMG!!!!

It's the same bullcrap being slung around like in the 70's!!!

Just can't wait until these tree huggin', pot smokin', do it if it feels good hippies become extinct!!!!

FEAR IS THE CATCH WORD OF THE DAY!!!

I'm not surprised that you see the inevitability of overpopulation as a "FEAR" issue. Most Right
Wingers have a  brain defect that causes overly sensitivity to FEAR.

The problem is real.  We can deal with it or we can just deny it and go back to typing about
conspiracy theories!

The major cities of the world, especially where the large population centers of poor people are in
concentrated areas near the ocean.  Many depend on the ocean to provide the only protein in their
diet.

The present rate of population growth is unsustainable.  Like most problems that grow exponentially,
the sooner you address the problem, the easier the problem is to fix.

The time to act is 'yesterday' and the longer we wait the worst the problem becomes.
one easy step...
Free dependable birth control for those who want it throughout the 3rd world and developing
countries.

but they don't have to......we don't have to live near the ocean in cities thinking that is the only way to get food/water
shelter etc......

the flu is a form of birth population control as are a lot of other diseases.....

science fiction (of which you find not relevant) had helped us 'over populate' and now it will be our chain in regulation...

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Go ahead, but we shouldn't have to pay for it... China and India, where a lot of those red dots exist, are hardly developing countries, maybe they should take the money that is tagged for nukes and spend it on birth control

Birth control will not stop population increases, wouldn't even put a dent in it. Might slow it down a hair but overall it would be like stopping a train with a piece of paper.

Another dire prediction coming from left wing hysteria that never came to true.

Why the world isn't running out of oil
Decades ago, the world was told it was running on empty. Today, we have more oil than we need. What’s fuelling the boom in black gold?

On the evening of April 18 1977, President Jimmy Carter invited television cameras into the Oval Office and portentously announced to the American people that “tonight I want to have an unpleasant talk with you about a problem unprecedented in our history. With the exception of preventing war, this is the greatest challenge our country will face during our lifetimes.”

The unprecedented problem was energy. Or rather, the lack of it. “We simply must balance our demand for energy with our rapidly shrinking resources,” said the 39th President of the United States. “The oil and natural gas we rely on for 75 per cent of our energy are running out.”

Population history:

Quoted Text
Between AD 1 and 1750 the average annual increase in world population was around 0.1%,
but between 1750 and 2000 it was close to 0.8%, with the second half of the 20th century showing
a figure of 1.8%. This explosion in human numbers coincided with the introduction of new and
improved crops and agricultural techniques, together with the other developments of the industrial
revolution which allowed humans to achieve a step change in the rate that natural resources
were exploited. Improved public health, particularly vaccination and sanitation, all supported
this growth. By 2000, there were ten times as many people on Earth as there were 300 years
ago; the figure for 2010 is around 6.9 billion.

Current trends
The population trends projected by the UN vary enormously by region:

~Africa and much of Asia are predicted to grow significantly
~the Americas are expected to grow somewhat
~Europe is predicted to stabilize

Quoted Text
The mid-range global projection is that the planet's population will increase from seven
billion to nine billion by 2050. Broader estimates range from eight to 11 billion, depending on how
effectively and quickly reproductive and development programs are implemented in developing
areas of the world to address the key drivers of population growth: the lack of reproductive
health and contraception, lack of women's rights and poverty. In some countries, migration also
contributes significantly to the increase in population.

Universal access to reproductive health services is one of the main
factors that help to reduce birth rates and hence population growth.

Women working.  Improvements made to infrastructure, wide availability of modern contraceptives
and the empowerment of women all greatly contribute to significantly lower and
therefore much more sustainable rates of birth.

Economic development also helps to lift women out of the high birth rate poverty trap.

it's not just about access....I work with PLENTY of women who (just like men think they need cialis) think they are
feral cats and just keep reproducing....AND THEY HAVE FREE ACCESS SUPPORT....

population growth also has to do with the lack of natural selection because science has invented vaccinations...and
other 'artificial' means for longevity....

if you don't think medical science(not healthcare, which is a misnomer when having to be told to pay for healthcare)
isn't to fix what is F'ed up, like water, food supply and the lack of exercise obtaining life sustaining needs then yes, one
would be the type of person who likes to be told what to from womb/petridish to death....

it's kind of like logans run....

but no this conversation is a war on women, FORCING women to be the one's to shoulder population control by ingesting
chemicals/hormones that are not as safe as the public is lead to believe....much like GMO foods.....

I say legislate every male at age 25 to have a vasectomy......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
