I don't know why you bother....really!
This is just a typical REIDRECT....avoiding the real issue regarding folks who are against the killing machine. Folks who have seen the ravages of war. It's blow back. It senseless violent wars. Folks who question the men/women who willing join such a 'killing machine'...and let's not forget....let's celebrate by singing the STAR SPANGLED BANNER!! It's disgraceful.
and my grandfather was DRAFTED.....he would have NEVER 'joined'! He had NO CHOICE!! Knowing what I do today....he would have been a draft dodger and moved his family to Canada if only draft dodging was in fashion then.....and we would have been better for it.
The draft was the ultimate use of force against the US citizens.
Imprisonment for failing to join the killing machine the defends no one's freedom.
I'll bet George Washington would spit on soldiers who kill unarmed civilians a half million at a time.
I am completely ashamed that the world views all Americans as part of this massive war machine, that we can't seem to keep from interfering around the world. Spreading death and destruction, leaving trails of bodies behind. |

And how does it change if this is a myth or not, if it happened to 1 or 2 soldiers and a lie was made saying it was common place guess what part of that story is a lie. Will you at least admit it was not common place and the stories of it being common was a lie? Here is a GI Joe cartoon which spread the propaganda of this story and sold the story as fact.  |

Read my earlier reply...already replied that I never said it was the norm, but that I experienced it! If it was a common myth or fact or common occurrence in the 60's, I am not able to comment on that, as I only know of my own experiences and those of my friends and fellow Vets. To be clear, I have not heard of any of my Vet friends that experienced it. But many of them have been subjected to claims of being baby killers...even those that never set foot in Vietnam. |

Henry, unless you experienced the issue, you are in no position to say it didn't happen...
and if you read posts I've made before you would know that I was a victim of this idiocy in 1968.

from boot camp for Xmas, and 1-1/2 yrs before I went to Nam.

Are the soldiers are fighting, dying and killing for THIS??? All for RESOURSES AND CONTROL!!! Hey.....do I hear the star spangled banner playing somewhere so the sheople can be brainwashed even more???  Our military folks are starting to smarten up and see the scam for what it is!

vote on going to war... but Civilians DO have a vote and they DO have public political protest that is
not available to US troops in uniform.

There might of been a case or 2 but you know just as much as I do the myth was blown out
of proportion to make it seem as if it were common place, it was not. Most of the myths like
this were lies to discredit the anti-war movement and that is a fact. I don't buy for a second
you were spit on for your service in Nam'.
