They had to figure out a way to stay within the 2% tax cap and still feather law enforcements nest.  So they sacrificed the paramedics by cutting them out of the budget and brought in Mohawk to generate revenue.  Then they all gave themselves raises at the expense of of REMS and the paramedics.  

With the 2% tax cap, I won't be surprised to see more town services get privatized as long as it brings in revenue.  They can't directly tax the residents more than 2%, so they will indirectly tax them by charging fees to private companies to run town services.  

Maybe they will privatize the water department next, and meter water usage.  Then charge the water company a fee for giving them the contract.  

and this is one of the main reasons why there are so many forsale signs in ROTTENdam!

There is no Democratic machine in Rotterdam and there won't be one.  In the long run, it will be good to get more Republicans on the town board and county legislature.  Single party rule can lead to isolation (from the electorate and their needs), laziness and arrogance.

sorry to say exit....but both dems/reps and anyone else with half a brain...are sick and tired of the 'playing politics' and voted for change. Most of these half brained ROTTENdamians have been sick and tired since fdg took office. They obviously thought these guys would turn things around........NOT!!

In either case....the 2 new elected folks on ROTTENdam's town board will make sure EVERYTHING is exposed. Well that is everything they are allowed to take part in.

To your point, and I have to agree...ROTTENdam is more divided than ever!!

Too bad Tracy didn't run a full slate. Every contested DEM lost. Congrats to Brian McGarry who won ON ONE LINE-REP ONLY. Agree that Countywide races must all be
contested. Randy will certainly be better than Judy. This also proves you don't have to sell out to the third party joke lines to win in Rotterdam. The taxpayers are sick and tired
of being sick and tired. More need to get off the sofa and throw the bums out.

and just how is that gonna happen  ------ just cause velano is an attorney doesn't mean harry is handing over the packet until just before joe sits at the agenda meeting -  like the press is gonna print the sh!t   only 2 votes when 3 are necessary

once velano starts grandstanding  - motion to adjourn

and unless velano becomes as entertaining as miley cyrus  in the next few weeks I don't expect much change - he is not worth the popcorn and candy to go watch - at least FDG could keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for his next Fu(K up

Don't fool yourself about villano. He is one smart cookie for sure. One of the smarter folks left in ROTTENdam. You are correct about the '2 votes'. But some folks look at this as 'paving the way' for future elections. There will clearly be a 'difference' between the two ways of governing. Just like there will be on the county leg with McGarry.

It was HUGE that DiLeva and Hanson didn't make the grade! (a blessing)

Time will tell on how ROTTENdamians respond and who they will support in the future.

I ran into people today that were overjoyed that DiLiah and Manson didn't get in. They were sickened and disgusted by both of them with the "haven't made up our minds yet" on the ambulance issue. Furthermore they hates the way DiLiah manhandled DelGallo on a continuing basis because the "Chief" directed her to.
