The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Sure.  Sign up to serve your country (at below minimum wage) possibly risk your life for your country,
be located throughout the USA and the world, live away from your family etc etc etc.

I doubt Senders would qualify!

they VOLUNTEERED.....

basically your socialist view of healthcare and education doesn't warrant a special listing, only those who risk their lives
in SPECIAL situations that they volunteered for, and that you deem are special.....

funny

every America qualifies...even the ones on welfare/SS/WIC etc etc.....because they volunteered to live in our fiat
cast system with everyone placing value on everyone else....how to keep that nice system....hire some military folk
to go around the world beating the crap out of other sovereign nations to make sure they know America is the big
boy on the block. Then get a paramilitary group set up in house to enforce regulations/laws to apprehend those,
arbitrarily called, criminals, guilty until proven innocent of course. AND KEEP THE STATUS QUO that was so diligently
impressed upon us through the public school system(not much different than your local church, only with different god)

I volunteered to be a nurse...here....

I don't understand the god worship that you have....which is fine....but to me everyone is equal

I VOLUNTEERED to buy christmas presents for a family and their kids because the bulk of 'assistance' was going
to feed the war machine....

I'm assuming you think the war machine is part of social security/WIC/welfare etc benefits...gotta keep the status quo

They didn't volunteer for FREE, it was a JOB...They join for MONEY, for ROTC tuition assistance, for a pension.  Everybody chooses their employment VOLUNTARILY.  JUST ANOTHER SPECIAL CLASS OF CITIZEN CREATED BY GOVERNMENT.  Us mundane that work 29, 40, and 50 hours a week to pay their salaries and pension deserve no special recognition.  We don't fight in the name of the flag, a percentage of our labor is just harvested to employ those willing to kill on command.

Cicero just listed the reasons HE'D think that someone would join the military... for money (shows how
little he knows about the military)
As an E4 corporal in a combat zone, when I was in, you'd make $165 a month including combat pay.
That's not an 8 hour a day job, but a 24 hour a day job.
There is no going home, or watching tv, or gettin a cold one from the fridge... It was a 24 hour a
day operation.
The vast majority got No Pension, No ROTC tuition assistance, but many got wounds, burns and
broken bones.

So even in the 60's, when you could easily earn $165 a week for a 40 hour week, Military pay was
about $.30 cents an hour.

Yea Cicero.  It was for the   money!

women were the birthers and men the killers all for country.....

I'm not saying what vets go through isn't horrific but there are A LOT of other life situations that cause PTSD....and
no one gets a medal for that...

stay at home moms get the same pay as a soldier....24/7

Yea See!  Senders is on to something here.  With his usual logic, he has deduced that
Fighting half way across the world against an enemy who is trying his best to kill or seriously
wound you, IS JUST THE SAME THING AS A STAY AT HOME MOM!
They are practically identical!!!

Outstanding!!!

So what is the purpose of showing their former status, is their some benefit from having it on there or is it just a gloating thing

Box, I don't know if you talk to current military, but I know personally that they BRAG about how their children's education will be paid as part of their service compensation.  So while I struggle to save enough to pay my bills and save for MY child's education, I have people in the color guard stationed at Stratton AFB bragging about their compensation.

This isn't Vietnam era anymore box, military is a business now.
