Consolidate the municipalities with the County of Schenectady into a single City-County form of government.  Then we can get rid of the redundant and unnecessary number of municipal legislators and executives (city councils members, town board members, town supervisors and mayors) who really don't add anything of value to the quality of lives of taxpayers and residents---- and keep the necessary civil servants like the Paramedics who actually provide a service to the taxpayers and residents,  and who actually save lives.

Excuse me but would you care to state how much LOSS OF TAX DOLLARS thanks to YOUR BUDDY DEMS at the city, town and county who chose exempt GE from paying property taxes?????

How much DV??????   How that loss of tax revenue HELPING the town??????

Consolidate so that town police will be sent in to the city on a daily bases?   That WILL happen.

Once again, as you are not a taxpayer, you do not own a home, yo have no mortgage to pay, no children to support  -- yes I DEFY YOU to try to pay a mortgage PLUS your own taxes PLUS the taxes of GE PLUS county level taxes for downtown's wealthy PLUS trying to save for your children's college (while paying for their current expenses) PLUS trying to pay home maintenance expenses, PLUS trying to put money aside for your own retirement.  Oh, retirement---what's that?    Natuarlly, age 50 people who are not normal adults cannot understand the impact of what the local dems are doing.

Now, have you gone even one shred of evidence to support your claim a few years ago that the county level taxes are the lowest in 50 years?   Got any yet?

CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK, yep, the rest of us know.

It should be noted  that all the other municipalities are NOT having these money problems like Schenectady is.

But then they aren't exempting millionaires and billionaires from paying taxes while forcing lower income homeowners to pay those taxes.

And the other places are NOT going on wild uncontrolled spending sprees like Schenectady either!

Sure, spread the City's debt around to the entire county.

You are a regular Obama.

Stop trying to redistribute the wealth/debt.

Sorry -- your ignorant response doesn't cut it.  This has nothing to do with redistributing wealth.
Every municipality has debt.
Every municipality is struggling with providing services while remaining within the 2% property tax cap.
Finally - the current municipal boundaries were a 19th century creation and we are living in the 21st Century
and it is time that local governments were reformed to be relevant and useful in the 21st Century.

Lay off/cut the number of politicians -- don't cut the paramedics.

Please provide proof that this idea has ever lowered anyone's taxes.

It will simply give them more funds to pass among their friends.

It is absolutely redistribution of wealth and debt.

Don't worry, HUD has plans for all of you wanting to "vote with your feet". Under consolidation, the people who left Detroit would find themselves back in Detroit. Something to think about. BTW, our representatives don't represent all of us now. Anybody see Hugh Farley down at the stockyards? Why not?

it doesn't lower taxes......it just keeps the same $$ and labels everything differently....

Please provide proof that sticking your head up your a** and trying to pretend that the world hasn't changed in 200 years has made things any better?

DV, you won't provide proof because you have no knowledge of finances, government, and taxes.

Three years sine you stated the  county taxes were the lowest in 50 years and countless times you've been asked for and challenged to provide proof.  You NEVER have provided ONE TEENY WEENY SHRED OF PROOF of that comment.

Where is you proof that the city is in a renaissance, that it is improvign?

Countless, countless times I have provide TONS AND TONS AND TONS of proof that under the city and county and plex leadership over the past almost 10 years that the city especially is going deeper and deeper in to major problems -- tax base falling, property values falling, home sales and home sale prices falling, essential services being eliminated, taxes increasing, vacancies in houses and apartments on the rise, abandoned houses on the rise, taxpayers who lose their homes on the rise, blight on the rise, the city ignoreing the residents and the neighborhoods in which they live while lavishing tens of millions of dollars and tax exemptions on millionaire and billionaire political cronies of the dem party people.

Now, can you EVER provide ANY EVIDENCE of things you post?

Watch, total silence.     Pretend you have me blocked, while yolu are just gritting your teeth, blood boiling while trying not to respond because you want to pretend to have be blocked, pretend that you aren't reading my posts.  Very difficult isn't it.

Obviously you can't answer the question.

You know that consolidation is merely getting less for the same money.

Remember consolidation of the Schenectady High Schools?

Remember consolidation of all the school and the $16 million dollar per year transportation costs it created?

For once, just consider spending cuts, little Obama.

Change the future golden parachutes for police, city and town retirees to match the dwindling revenue stream.

consolidation just puts a bigger anchor on the gov't ship and gov't deck hands.....it does nothing for the VALUE of
taxes paid...
