the point here mc1 is ..... is this 'really' who you 'think' it is??? don't really know for sure. However....the government can find out in a heartbeat just by tracing the IP address.

They can find out what computer it's coming from, but not the exact person.  One computer may be accessible to multiple people.

In regard to 'anonymous posting'... I read an article containing FBI warnings about divulging
personal information on message boards or chat rooms (the article was before social media was
popular).

The FBI warning said some criminals use message boards or chat rooms to find out a victims personal
information and use that information to plan a robbery.

For example... certain Right Wing Anti Govt posters on this board made it well known that they own
several weapons.  The report said that instead of that fact being a deterrent, it's an invitation to
pro criminals to break into a home with a valuable item to steal that is easy to turn into cash.

A poster who uses his real name may inadvertently post seemingly innocent information that gives
a criminal vital information for the crime.
If you read a post:
"I'm taking the whole family to the track tomorrow to watch the Travers.  We've gone every year for the
last 10 years.  It's a great time".

A criminal reads:
"This guy and his whole family will be gone tomorrow and no one will be home between 1 & 7PM."
The house is empty and full of guns!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

They are less capable of tracking a person through his ip address than you think.

I have only been to one website in the past year according to my ip address.

I connect through an encrypted VPN.

Anyone can stack VPNs that keep absolutely no logs and allow for total anonymity.

It's actually very easy and all Time Warner sees is me sending and receiving encrypted packets to the VPN.

If I use geolocation search, it says I'm in Poland today.

When I go to various websites that say your country is banned, I simply choose a different country and view the content.

The US is banned on many websites.

Like Al Jazeera as box posted.

And wireless may be coming from varying sources.   School computers, work computers, library computers.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

In China people are sent to prison for repeating rumors online. This is coming to a web near you very shortly as the statists get their way.
