Wow. In six months.
I have never understood keeping the garbage all over the apartment. I mean, when all you have to do is get it out as far as the curb, don't you want the garbage out for your own sake? The rest of it, if you're a lazy, destructive slob, yeah, but how bad do you have to be to live with garbage? Eesh.

I have seen apt that the tenants are terrible.  All were on some type of entitlement.  But this does not mean everyone receiving SSI/SSDI and Sec 8 are like this just as every man is not a rapist nor woman a hore.

I just wonder why he had no idea the bk yrd was not mowed and that the water was leaking.  I would think he every right to inspect his property on a regular basis long as he makes arrangement ahead of time tosee it at I assume that his state does too or it may even be a part of the Sec 8 lease.  That floor took some time to be in that bad of shape.

Maybe he lived out of town?  Then why not have someone be designated to do this inspection.

I am not excusing the tenants as this one was horrible but he holds some responsiblity for letting the property get that bad.  I wonder if he can charge her with some type of crime or if Sec 8 can pull her voucher?

I will say this and this is going against what I said in the first sentence I realize but gonna say it anyways .  The scum from NYC play a high percentage of the problems we have here from landlords to tenants.

I thought section 8 did regular inspections themselves.

This guy was naive, but would he have been able to rent a house out in a "high-crime area" for that much money if the government wasn't involved? I mean, the woman I know of who rents out apartments in not so great neighborhoods will not accept Section Eight. Some landlords won't accept it because the place has to be in very good repair at the beginning of the lease, and they are slumlords, but this woman keeps her places up. The catch is, she cannot charge the high rents she could get from Section Eight. This guy made a very poor decision when he paid that much for that house, apparently, that doesn't make him a bad person, but he made another bad decision when he thought the government was going to bail him out of it via a large amount of income from his property when no one with that much money would've rented it.
Not mowing the lawn, if you don't want to ever stop by your property that makes you an absentee landlord. Would a woman who can't even take care of herself really take care of your house like you would? Would she even own a lawnmower? Not likely.
The woman is to blame for the damage she did. No mistake about it. I'm just thinking, if he wouldn't live there himself, what was he thinking?
I know some people renting out houses around here because they can't sell them, and even though they've screened tenants they still run into some problems because many people who rent just don't think about things related to property maintenance. If they wanted to think about those things they wouldn't be renting. You have to stop by or send your representative, and ask directly, are there any problems I can fix?

Quoted from GrahamBonnet
urban culture is the predominant culture NOW, suckahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhs!

thanks democraps

if you dream abt being a landlord you are insane. that is nothing compared to what they CAN do to you with the cover and tacit support of government

urban culture is the result of landowners promoting conservation to 'keep ownership'...

those who control the land control the masses

they call it 'smart development'......sci-fi 'bubbles' of, save the planet

remove the man from the land and he starves and is easily controlled by those who control the food supply system

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
