Gun-Free Chicago: 5 Shot Dead, 27 Wounded to Start Holiday Weekend
in Breaking News 23 mins ago

Extrano’s Alley
July 5, 2013

The Chicago Sun Times reports a typical start to a weekend in Chicago, where guns are banned unless you are a Chicago Alderman named Mell. So far the banging weekend has produced at least five shot dead, with 27 wounded.

In the meantime, in the heavily armed State of Arkansas, where people can tote a gun any way that pleases them, this mornings headlines do not mention a single new murder. Motorcycle fatalities down by 45%, a lady got a surprise visit from the stem cell donor who saved her life, a suspect was arrested in a May murder, two more children have drowned in backyard pools, and life goes on in well armed Arkansas.

While the citizens of gun free – except for Aldermen named Mell – Chicago have little to celebrate except death.

why dont you break it down further box? lets see where the crimes are committed in these "red" states...lets see where what rates are for cities like New orleans, birmingham, altanta, etc...and see how those "b
ue" areas compare to the rural sections of the state in relation to rate of and total gun violence?

Where would you feel safer walking

In a Arizona St where guns are easily available

Or a Detroit St. where very strong gun laws are on the books.

For some reason I think 99% of people would still feel safer in Arizona.

If it were a country, New Orleans (with a rate 62.1 gun murders per 100,000 people) would rank second in the world.

Detroit's gun homicide rate (35.9) is just a bit less than El Salvador (39.9).

Baltimore's rate (29.7) is not too far off that of Guatemala (34..

Gun murder in Newark (25.4) and Miami (23.7) is comparable to Colombia (27.1).

Washington D.C. (19) has a higher rate of gun homicide than Brazil (18.1).

Atlanta's rate (17.2) is about the same as South Africa (17).

Cleveland (17.4) has a higher rate than the Dominican Republic (16.3).

Gun murder in Buffalo (16.5) is similar to Panama (16.2).

Houston's rate (12.9) is slightly higher than Ecuador's (12.7).

Gun homicide in Chicago (11.6) is similar to Guyana (11.5).

Phoenix's rate (10.6) is slightly higher than Mexico (10).

Los Angeles (9.2) is comparable to the Philippines (8.9).

Boston rate (6.2) is higher than Nicaragua (5.9).

New York, where gun murders have declined to just four per 100,000, is still higher than Argentina (3).

Even the cities with the lowest homicide rates by American standards, like San Jose and Austin, compare to Albania and Cambodia respectively.

Every city has a Democrat Mayor.  These are blue cities.  Many are DARK BLUE.

OK good now if you had to walk through one of those ghettos would you rather be armed or unarmed? I ask that because one area you can openly carry legally, the other you can not, both areas have a high amount of guns in the hands of the criminals, neither which obey the laws. So reality is even though many gun laws are in place in Detroit the only ones effected are the law abiding citizens who follow them. Many citizens who live in Detroit have to break the laws and own illegal weapons because of the areas they live in, these people don't want to hurt or rob anyone, they do it because they have to, it might be something you don't understand.
