Florida members of American Atheists, a national advocacy group, plan to erect a 1,500-pound
granite display in front of the Bradford County Courthouse in Starke, Fla., next month, opposite a
controversial year-old display of the Ten Commandments outside the same courthouse.

"We'd rather there be no monuments at all, but if they are allowed to have the Ten Commandments,
we will have our own," said Ken Loukinen, the director of regional operations for American Atheists
who designed the monument.

As long as the Atheist's and the Christian's need to advertise their beliefs in government buildings, their worship is of the State.

Look at that, the Christians and atheist share a pro life value.  Good for them!

Well, for one, atheists don't declare jihad and also don't start religious wars.

The question should be, what damage has religion inflicted on to the people of the Earth.

The death toll is uncountable.

I don't find this inscription to be anything that I would object to.

I believe The Bill Of Rights should be inscribed on a monument outside a courthouse,
not a religion/atheist argument.

Neither religion not atheism should be endorsed by the government.

I don't have a problem with both being taught in depth, in schools, as part of history either.

Yes they are, what they did goes against this

Instead of building a monument why didn't they donate the money to a hospital or a charity, reason is because they want attention and a way to spread their beliefs. At least the church admits it tries to gather support by its actions, these atheists tries to deny it while being hypocritical at the same time.

Just my guess, but I think the reason behind the atheist monument is in protest to the taxpayer funded
religious expenditures.
